It`s a schooling track now not a race track , I know a couple who school dogs there but we normally use Grewcock`s at Rugeley

Yeah well we have to laugh about it! We want somewhere 'deep' in farm land with no roads to worry about. Also looking to learn more about working them. The saluki x is a stunning specimen of muscle and is a very adept hunter....even things she really shouldn't but no one saw so .....PHEW! My first piece of advice before you venture anywhere near farmland is make sure your dogs are 100% STOCK BROKEN then and only then consider taking your dogs and letting them off in the countryside also make sure recall is spot on as once your dogs see stock or happen upon new scents they will b

I have had 3 Hancock dogs all Beardie/Border composites my 1/2 cross was wary of strangers until the day he died, he was a pleasure for me to own but he lived in from day one and was bonded like super glue to me he was hard work to train in some aspects of training but easy in others in fact he was undoubtedly the best trained dog I have owned, My first 3/8 5/8 was by Enoch and has always been a people dog and has the best and most stable temperament of any dog I have owned well trained and easy to train she picked things up first attempt and it stuck straight away again bonded lik

I loved the pigeons when I had them but can`t go near them now as it gives me a really bad chest so my advice would be make sure they are wearing masks whenever they are in the lofts as it is a heart breaker to have to get rid when it could of been avoided

Unregistered pups occasionally come along but even the flapping men tend to have them earmarked as it makes the pups able to race registered and unregistered, given time and a bit of effort most greys will re-train and be okay with ferts and small animals and if the person who you are hgetting the dog off knows his dogs he will beable to steer you in the direction of a dog that is suitable greyhound-data.com is probably your best bet of finding a pup

A registered litter has to stay together until at least 12 weeks old when they are ear-marked, some breeders may have an issue with you buying a pup as a non-racer as they are trying to prove their stock as producers of racing stock and the more that hit the tracks the more chances they have of finding a good class dog , but saying that some breeders would be happy as long as you pay your money you can do as you please with it, most of the greys out there working are ex-racers it is very rare that you will get a grey that is bad with people and most can be stock broken by using similar met

only repeat the retrieve once or twice keep her keen on "the game" , if you repeat it to often the pup becomes bored and disinterested in the game, give her an hour or two between sessions to keep her fresh and wanting to do it for the reward

The old bitch has always just been a mooching dog catching what she puts up herself but she has been a good dog but obviously no massive bags of game as she has never had the opportunity she still manages to put the occasional rabbit on the bag mainly by using her experience instead of speed , the brindle bitch has done well on rabbits large and small on the lamp but os not interested in bigger quarry she had also taken a lot of feather in the daytime as well as the odd ferreted and mooched rabbit

I have 2 3/8 5/8 bitches that are a mix of beardie and border collie the old enoch bitch she is over 11 year old now and teh Tweedle Dum bitch who is now about 3 1/2 years old now

An excerpt from a Seminar by Greyhound vet John Kohnke "Roasting or Grilling of fatty meat destroys some of the important amino acids, such as methionine, as well as Vitamin A Vitamin E and Folic Acid. These essential nutrients help to break down the fat in the bowels so when they are destroyed, extra fat is absorbed from the gut and may accumulate in the liver. Burnt (oxidised) fat forms harmful peroxide chemicals that can interfere with muscle and liver function, causing slow growth in puppies and poor performance in working dogs" He is talking about cooking at temps over 20

Good Luck with the trial on Sunday

She has been a good lamp dog but will not tackle large quarry, she was tested quite hard on rabbits and other small fry last year until an injury stopped the season at the end of January, and this season has been slow to get going as her injury (torn Gracilis and triceps) could well of been career ending so taking this season steady and hopefully have her back to near 100% for next season she has also taken a lot of daytime feather and also daytime rabbits that she has bushed herself she is only 3 1/2 years old so still to young to say how good she could/would of been or is I also ha

I always believed that Hancock had bred and whelped Canaan and Plummer only took charge of the whelp at 8 weeks old ??? In fact other than rearing the pup and basic training I didn`t think Plummer had a lot to do with the bitch someone else bred it and somebody else conditioned and ran it but DBP put his name to the project
