Would they really care? After all, as long as it looked OK! To my mind the KC have ruined many good breeds and created nothing more than animals that fit the fashion of the day. Take the English Bull Terrier for example. Some t~~t at the KC decided that the flat forehead was no longer what is required but a rounded lamb-type head was instead. Why? Look at the Bulldog - f~~ked. And we could go on and on and find animals with all sorts of problems to do with hearing, bone growth, breathing, etc, etc. To my way of thinking if we want to save dogs breeds then the first thing that should be don

If she was bred to un on a flapper with the intention of running on the independants she probably would not of been tattoo`d pups are normally about 12 weeks when they are tattoo`d, There is no real age limit on the flaps but 15 months on the NGRC before they can have trials

I find the whole endorsement idea wrong if you sell something then it should be the new owners decision what they do , you can`t sell a car and say you can have it but you can`t drive it in case you are a bad driver, you don`t see the racing greyhound breeders saying that we will sell you a dog but you can`t race it in case it`s slow and makes our breeding look bad , when you sell something you give up right of ownership, otherwise you are just giving it out on an expensive long term loan, it is your choice to spend the amount of time and money on your line, but how are new lines going to be d

Another massive problem is that now the breeds are rare the breeders are charging he earth for puppies, but to top it all to make sure nobody else can get in on the money making they put an endorsement on the paperwork to stop dogs they`ve sold from having offspring registered, so it is a vicious circle that only the money grabbing breeders can do anything about

Most greyhounds are brilliant with kids and all people some can be funny but that goes for all breeds They can be trained to return but you will need a secure area to undertake this training exercise a couple of 20-30 minute walks a day is ample If you get from a RGT or other adoption agency they will have been fostered as well as temperament and small animal and child ested as long as the dog you take on has not been retired due to injury or being a non chaser you should be fine lure coursing and as in all hobbies lure coursing can be competitve or laid back depending on how serious

Alright frank We had 7 unschooled pups come over from Ireland and had all but one lead trained in a couple of hours, just a few couple of minute sessions and they are sorted not the best to begin with round lorries and that but within a week they were walking along the road absolutely bombproof , the one that took longer to train I swear was a bit thick anyway he is the only one out if the litter that wouldn`t chase as well just a slow backward pup where everything with him was hard work

Here is a pic I took last year of a badger only about 5 ft away the strange thing was I had a lurcher on the slip and this fella was not bothered in the slightest, not the best pic as I had a filter on my lamp, a dog pulling me, a lamp in one hand and a camera in the other trying to take a pic

There are a number of preparations sold by variuos companies , but the truth of it is surgical spirit dabbed on with a ball of cotton wool works just as well as any of them and will cost you a lot less

nede full runing name and tattoo number ect where did you get her from You don`t need full name just her full tattoo will do you can trace a dog easily as long as it has been registered at some time, if it hasn`t been registered you will struggle to find much about her
-
Good luck with her Woz ,I can`t find any record of the bitch from the earmark you have given is that the full tattoo and in which ear is it, UK are only tattoo`d in one ear Irish dogs are done in both
-
Greyhounds that are registered with NGRC and the Irish equivalent have tattoo`s in their ears and these tattoo`s are the dogs identity they also act as a way of finding the last registered owner, however if the dog is sold on to the independant greyhound scene the dog is not necessarily still owned by the last "registered" owner as they never used to have to change ownership, new rules state that any dog that is no longer racing has to be officially registered as no longer racing with an address of new owner if any ,or stating that the dog has been PTS or is being used as a brood or stud,

You still have to take out a "GREYHOUND TRAINERS LICENCE" opposed to a "PROFFESIONAL TRAINERS LICENCE" you still have to abide by all the rules and have kennels up to NGRC spec the GT allows you to train upto 12 dogs but the hard part can come in getting runs for the dogs as most trainers have a contract to supply dogs to a particular track, for their graded races and the only races non-contract trainers can enter dogs in are the "OPEN " races and this can be expensive as the open class dogs are the top of the tree and can cost serious ££`s Here are a couple of links that might give yo

If you want to race at an NGRC registered track then you will either need a trainer or go through the hassle of getting a trainers licence , if you want to race on the independants (flaps) then you can train your own dog , as for schooling then the best bet is go to one of the schooling tracks or some flaps will let you have a trial, if it is a pup then just let it watch the other dogs have a go and when ypu judge that it is ready give it a handslip round a couple of bends and see if it chases ok , but there will normally be someone there who will put you right if you ask
