  1. i dont think it is mate. i dont think they spread parvo when they have had the jab. a lad i know had a litter of pups about 3 years ago and was stuggleing to to sell them, he wanted to keep one but was worried about them getting parvo as they were getting on a bit. i asked my vet if he could just jab the one pup he was keeping and leave the others without it spreading through the rest of the litter. to which my vet replied he could the others would not catch it. the lad jabbed the pup and kept it in with the rest of the litter and they were all fine. Why didnt he just jab the whole lit

  10. Alright andy mate the line started from a lab gettin into a lads garden, his dad had racing greyhounds n the lab managed to climb the 10 ft fence to get to the bitch, the lab was just left to roam the streets as most dogs did at that time but the lab was a nice light racy type not like the fat feckers that you see alot of today, the greyhound was a big strong distance bitch, his dad was pissed off to say the least but his son talked him into letting him look after the bitch n rear the pups, she had 3 pups, 2 went to pet homes n he kept a nice red bitch pup that turned out 25 inch n very racy b
  11. Looking good, looks like your both havin fun bringin her on, bet you cant wait to take her to the next level
  12. As said nothin better than what you can do and prepare easy enough yourself only your paying through the roof for there stuff plus yours will be fresher..

  14. I have to agree with bosun, years ago i would of said just a pure grey, but now with the way match dogs are bred and the good bloodlines. They can bring so much more to the table with good feet natural wind ect its the way forward but thats just my opinion I think it would be a good idea but not over the full lab imo, over a 1st x yeh i think a saluki x could gell well, but also dont forget most match dogs are saluki lurchers ie lots of stuff in them which even if linebred those other breeds can surface when bred therefore could throw alsortes over a totally different breed, a saluki lurche
  15. Some truth in there mate, as well being a good dog, the dog is no good if it doesnt have a good owner who can look after condition feed it well n has the stamina n dedication to get it out there n test the dog to the max ..
  16. They make good dogs mate if you breed from the right dogs, my mate had a 1stx years ago n it took all quarry n lots of it i she was a guden, she was bred off a working lab to a big strong racing greyhound bitch that raced until she was 5 without injury, later he put a 3/4 saluki 1/4 greyhound over her and the pups were even better good hard dogs that would take stuff on any land big or small and very durable, if you did breeding similar to this and you were at the stage in the future were you had your lab grey x saluki grey, from there you wouldnt want to water the lab down anymore so you coul
  17. Sparrow got him off kip as an older dog, he was a 3 1/4 bred but i dont think he was anythin to do with cruise, kip ran him hard on the fens till he was 5 years old, so he must have been a bit special to have stayed with him that long as he wont entertain let alone keep rubbish, 'cruiser' 'pip' tramp' the dogs he had the best times with n he's done alot, sparrow got tramp at 5 years old and the dog still had plenty left to offer, he went on to to take loads of gear on the big land with sparrow but tramp also adapted and became a wizz on the smallest of fields as sparrow went were ever he coul
  18. Looks to be doin ok there from what you can see, stoppin it from gettin in that cover anyway to give her just enough time before i guess endin matters..
  19. Good replies lads a truly great breed and as said thousands of years of hunting ability, hopefully we will see those amazing qualitys of the best again, or perhaps after all the years now of saluki being introduced and line bred ie saluki lurchers here in the uk we now have our own strain of saluki or at least not far off anyway, some of those dessert types that you see dont look a million miles away from some of the stuff here now
