alrite lads, im looking at getting some grommets for the quickset, rather than the brinded way of setting them. What size groove (where you put the clove hitch on the lines) do i need? Will it be about 6mm? or thinner?

its not bad, but from the eye of the tieler to that bend, wants to be a lot shorter, The first tealers i made ages ago where shite, but you'll get the hang of it. How i create the eye of my tealer is i have a block of 2x2 wood, about 3 inch long. Drill a hole through it. a hooe big enough for the wire to slide in and out of with ease. As close to the hole as possible without splitting the wood i have a hi-tensile 1mm nail knocked in. When you have your wire striaghten it out, cut it to whatever length. Make a 90degree bend, about 3 inch. Slide it into the hole of the wood and then

Combo vans nice little van's. Cheap to run with diesel, even cheaper on veg oil. They are fast enough for a van, handle well nice to drive. Plenty of room in them, over head storage in the front and storage space in the rear of the van, where the curvy thingy is. Back doors rather than up & over door. Spot on for lamping from back of the van If you need something bigger, go for the fiat scudo. Good sized van and can get the 3 seater version. Again nice driver, twin side doors.

Well today about 9ish got a phone call from my lass. She had a small prang with a wagon, fair do's, it happens. No damage, just a tiny dint in the car & a bit of scratching. She was in a bit of shock but what can u expect? Another phone call about half 12. While she was parked up in the schools car park (she works in admin in a school). In tears, some druggy scum bag had smashed her car window & nicked the CD player. What is britain coming to? A bunch of theiving b*****ds, feeding there dirty b*****d drug habit. I was fuming, i had 2 leave work early 'cos i was at boiling

i just wouldnt do it. with the great british weather, we never know when the wind is gonna drop completely off. Like many a nights i have been out. The windiest nights we seem to get up here are between 3/4 waxing moon & 3/4 waning moon I'd assume that the noise from the shotty would put a lot of rabbits away, even on the windiest of nights. I could be wrong. Unless of course you are using a silencer

that doesnt make sense. You are lamping on your own, but there is two people??????? one shining the lamp, and one stalking at 90degrees and i wouldnt of reccomended lamping with a shotty

removing velvet is possible if you are doing it at home, but personally i'd leave it in velvet. (I do this to get all the hair off from around the base of the antlers) How i do it (i only keep antlers, not full head) put the antlers into pan of boiling water, let them sit for 10 minutes or so, then start picking all the hair off with a knife. When you have a nice thick set of antlers, the base of each side will be quite close together and you'll have a nice hole going between them, i use a big needle to pick the hair out, from underneath. I also use a brass brush to clean the

So you would keep the poor fecker in solitary would you :realmad: .....Ferrets are gregarious they ARE better kept in company of other ferrets WELL SAID MIKE When one of my jills were pregnant, I seperated her from her sister & my albino. I know that usually jills will get on with each others litter, but i thought id be a bit cautious. I could see the difference in the ferrets when seperated the one on its own just didnt seem as bouncy, & the other two were looked as if they were looking for the 3rd jill all the time. Now there all back together & happy as a pi

went out yesterday morning to set fence & peg wires, but guess which divvy left his hammer behind. Anyway set about 10 fence wires. I havnt got any pictures as im giving up on my shitty camera that i have. There was one run through a fence into woodland that was a fantastic run. I was confident that a rabbit would be snared in that run, and i was right! Basically the bottom strand of the fence is 6inch off the ground and theres hay growing along the fence, the hay was neatened around the run making a perfect shape for the bunny. I got another on a box wire fence, the second

i remember one year when breeding, the jill tried to drag me into the nest box, wouldnt let go of my finger. She wasnt biting or hurting me, she just had hold of me. Lucky someone was in the house to bring some milk out to get her off me

a ferret is a ferret, off working stock or not. My polecat hob is not off working stock & he is a cracking worker. My sandy hob doesnt get used very often, but when the situation arises, he works like feck. Horses for courses my two polecat jills are off working stock, one is the best worker i have ever had, the other is shite. ferrets usually get better by the season, i had a 3rd season jill and there wasnt a rabbit she couldnt shift eventually, up until one day when i lost her 15ft down in woodland. get a ferret, handle from young, put it down a rabbit burrow. Dont expe

she did for about 15 mins but i dont think she is pregnant she isnt getting any fatter is her vulva swelled up?

Anyone seen this weeks CMW? An article about a lad using his dogs to locate ferrets & rabbits. He lets them sniff the hole, then digs until either he gets the rabbit or gets a bit where it splits off, dog sniffs, and hes off again, he was saying he had "dug 30 feet so far" All that effort for a bloody rabbit, be a lot easier using a bloody ferret locater

The Dam is Bull/Greyhound she stands 23" The Sire is Collie/Greyhound Whippet/Greyhound he stands 27" She is a lively little lass, due in the vets 20th May for her first innoculation
