  3. I had out 22 snares by the sand quarry. Again the night was pretty shite. But i snared 3 rabbits. I have had a look on here with the lamp a few nights ago and not many rabbits were about. But the main thing is.... i have tried and better tried to snare rabbits on this field before and not a fecking thing. One problem though...... the crows beat me to the little buggers but im learning
  4. You wont go far wrong if you book a 2day course with Peg And Gun Good money well spent Before i went i was, what did you say peg, "a hopeless rabbit snarer, a useless fecking tart from ....." "and with in five hours im getting better" but a couple of answers. YES the weather conditions affect it. You need to check snares legally once a day. but you better checking them morning. and just before dark, so you can take any rabbits out and re-set any bumped snares My first nights snaring with P&Gs tuition i snared 14 rabbits and four hares. The day after i got back i se

  7. Well i know there are six types of deer in the UK Roe Red Muntjac Fallow Sika CWD but where abouts in the UK hold the best numbers for them. Round my way we only see Roe. just curious
  8. you want it as big as you can really. use boards or blocks about 1' high. Then make wooden frames. Fill with mesh, obvious what size mesh you need - anything that a ferret cant get out. You want a good roof on it. if you get a roll of polythene and attach a 2x2 to it, you can put this round the sides of the court. then if the rain comes down heavy you can roll it down and keep the weather off them. Then obviously you want a sleeping compartment. just make a few boxes with lift off lid's. lot easier to clean out. Then just add a few pipes for your ferrets to play about in. Wo

  17. I USE GREEN AND RED MATE THERE IS A LOT OF PEOPLE USING THE RED NOW SO I THOUGHT THEY MIGHT NOT BE USED 2 THE GREEN FOXES COME IN AS GOOD AS THE RED ANYWAY correct its also described in Deben catalogue as "Good for use for animals with sensitive eyes" i havent used it for lamping off the back of the van yet, but I will. The first time i used it when lamping rabbits, it was absolutly amazing, they just did not have a clue til it was too late

  20. Well with the lamping season over for most, and everyone looking forward to next season. Share your plans for next season here. My plan is to hit the rabbits on a bit of land very hard soon as the august winds come in. Reason being is the bit of land i am on about gets blasted by tons of folk november/december and most the rabbits are gone. I reckon on this particular bit on the right night i could easily take a 50 bag. And there is another bit we were taking 10 a night in february so im almost sure that there wil be a 50/60 on the right night. ps; cant u tell im bored out
