  6. Would it be ok to house two hobs together? Most the time, Yes, but sometimes they MAY fight during the season time, but that is variable, ive got 2 hobs that never fight but another. 2 that always do sorry what do you mean by the season time? Ferrets come into "season" about March/April time until around September, Times do vary though, The Jill's generally need mating either to have kitts (not a good idea unless you know what your doing) or with VASECTIMISED hob or have a jab from the vet to bring them out of season The Hobs want to mate and can get a bit aggressive with e

  8. HI MATE WHAT PART OF HERTS R U IN I MIGHT BE INTERESTED IM ALSO HERTS CHEERS I'm near a place Called Hatfield.
  9. If you NEVER want to dig, forget ferreting, i use both hob and jill, yes, the hob kills more often, but the jill has killed her fair share, i have never HAD to dig to either, they both come out, but i dig to get the rabbits they have killed, it would be a waste not to. If i had to choose just one, i'd go with my hob.
  10. HI MATE WHAT PART OF HERTS R U IN I MIGHT BE INTERESTED IM ALSO HERTS CHEERS Yes it's a .22 pcp, i don't have a scope for it, but you can pick a decent one up for about £25. It has got a laser on it though, which is great for rats. it costs about 80p to charge the bottle and you get about 400 shots out of it.
  11. Got a Gunpower Stealth if you are interested. Excellent gun fella, ask anyone.
  12. I joked bout this in an earlier thread. I'd say fiction, doubt the dna would mix.
  13. "A bit new to selling dogs" So is epups then
  14. I've been using this, I bought it from Cyprus for about £3, and it's been a bloody good knife, the only problem is, it doesn't hold an edge for long and that is what the diamond sharpener is for next to it. (The watch is just for size comparison) The sharpener is the dogs, it unscrews and inserts into itself so it is only about 3" long, and sharpens really quick. But i have just treated myself and ordered one of these. http://www.outdoorpros.com/Prod/Buck-Knive...in/10802/Cat/20
  15. Good luck with your sale stormy, i think i recognise that dog, did your dad put some pics up the other day.
  16. When I was 18 years old me and a friend reared two cubs that we aquired when their eyes were still closed. We reared them on lactol, then onto meat. The vixen died, for unknown reasons, but the dog thrived. We wre keen to keep him, but he was very aggresive when food was around. We were working on an estate in Perthshire at the time, and living in a large static caravan, as a lot of young gamekeepers do. The cub would grab his scrap of food, and run underneath the seats, you couldnt go near him when he had food. He would be like this with the dogs aswell, and one day, when he was well
  17. Well all constructive and educated opinions are welcolme. But so is yours. At what age would you have to get a great white shark, to tame it?
  18. I think that the general feeling is, that they can be tamed, all be it to one person, but even then it seems to depend on the individual fox. Guess the Bro was right then, I'm surprised how many people have actually bought one up, or know of someone that has. Next question: Is it legal to have a fox? does it come under dwa act or is it akin to keeping a rat? Also, what do you reacon to a Whippet x Fox? (only kidding on the last question before some of you get serious)
  19. Locators are for wimps and people with no field craft. Whoops, and pro rabbiters who do not have the time to wait for the ferrret and one that kills consitently cuts down on the time factor, by having a quick dig, after all that is what they are getting paid for. There my friend is the crux of the matter, pest control persons are paid to get results so they have to get them or go out of buisiness. When all you hobby ferreters (of which I am one) keep banging on about locators and you cannot leave home without one and a spade. Make me think, god for Feck sake learn some fieldcraft, then yo
  20. Mmmm, interesting, seems it can be done over generations, but also a lot depends on the individual fox by the sounds of it .
  21. Cheers for that. So far it would seem i'm wrong, and maybe old charlie can be tamed then. Well i never. Ah, just read Mats post, maybe i'm not so wrong It depends how you define 'tame'. Well broadly speaking, an animal that doesn't want to savage you.
