  1. I think sal/whip/grey are fairly common just not sal/whip. Maybe a small whip/grey dog put over a small saluki bitch would have similar result. What are people running these dogs on and are they considered good all rounders? Gaz
  2. Thanks for reply. I like a bit of whippet in a dog. I wouldn't mind putting mine over a real good whippet or 3/4 1/4 bull a few years down the line to bring the size down a fraction. But wouldn't want to lose the saluki traits. Which is why I was thinking sal/whip. Gaz
  3. Well said ideation. Couldn't of put it better.
  4. Good read and nice looking dog mate. How is he bred?
  5. My saluki/whippet/grey is a great pet and I know they make great rabbit dogs, both daytime and on lamp. He is great with my little girl, very affectionate and very loyal. He is already very fast off the mark and agile. Its looking like he will make a handy size too, 5 months old and 21". Parents 23" and 26". Gaz
  6. I would like to think I know a little bit about Mart. Been speaking to him for a few months and he had litter sister to my pup a few months ago. He certainly isn't after a free pup. Who can say what they would do in this situation until faced with it? I certainly aren't capable of taking in 20 odd dogs to look after or rehome. Nor would I involve the useless bag of shit RSPCA. Okay, in eyes of law you are a thief, who on here gives a toss about the law really. He has saved one dogs life potentially and given it a chance. Better than turning a blind eye like alot of folk wo
  7. Thanks for replys, and nice dogs lads. I'm chuffed with mine, both his parents have got saluki in (saluki/grey x sal/whip/grey) and love watching them work. I think I will stick with this breeding in future. Are there many saluki x whippets out there or not? Gaz

  9. I'm using phone at the moment, will put some up tonight or in morning when on PC. That is him in my avatar pic at 4 months. Gaz
  10. Is anyone else working saluki/whippet/grey? My pup is coming up to 5 months and just wondering who else has got similar bred dogs and how they are doing? He has got brilliant prey drive and wants to chase everything, he is a quick learner and quite intelligent but this is sometimes masked by his stubborn streak which I am learning to work around. He is very fast and agile and can go all day. I'm hoping he makes a good all rounder. Look forward to seeing others. Gaz

  12. Currently got mine gaff taped onto a belt, which I robbed of an old set of Military webbing. Thinking about getting a decoy bag for carrying bunnies though so I might drop batt in bottom of there. Gaz
  13. I am getting rid of my little fish pond this weekend to make room for dog kennels. The pump is up for grabs. It has got an internal media filter aswell as UV filter and is top of the range as far as internal units go. Model - Hozelock Easy Clear 2500 Cost me 100 notes 6 months ago. £50 ono. Collected from Stoke on trent or can meet in the northwest area.
  14. I have got an XL dog cage here that my pup lurcher pup used for about 2 months. I paid £69 for it brand new about 3 months ago and have no use for it now. Measurements - 107 x 70 x 75 cm Buyer to collect from stoke on trent. Open to offers.
  15. I've just rigged it up to battery with spade connectors and it is sound. Does anyone know what bulb this is likely to have in it? Where I could get replacements? And could I put say a 100watt in to increase brightness? Or is 400,000cp just that and increasing bulb wont help? Cheers Gaz
  16. Haha. Excellent. Thanks for info lads. Is the 400,00 about equivalent to the entry level lightforce lance then? Gaz
  17. Excellent. What a find... Full story might make for a good read... Its my birthday next week and my mum n dad have been asking what I want. So I said they can get me my first lamp. I have been umming and arrring weather to go new or second hand. Ive already got battery pack and charger so only need the lamp, most lads want about 50 notes for second hand and I've seen the striker 170 for £76 on Ian hodge. Anyway tonight I decided to go new, lightforce striker. So I went mums to order online and my dad asked to look at it and see what it was like. "there is one of them in the boat"
  18. thanks for reply, is 400,000 cp enough for lamping bunnies? ive read a review that they are supposed to outshine and outlast the more modern lamps? Maybe that was the 800,000cp though. Gaz
  19. As some of you may know i have been after a lamp and posted in wanted section. I have just (by massive co-insidence) aquired a Coleman 400,000 CP Lamp, it has got cigarette lighter connector which i plan to swap for spades for my battery, i have just shined it from the motor and it looks good. Are they rated or any good? From what i can gather they are discontinued by manufacturer but cant find much info on it. How old are they? Thanks Gaz
  20. My pup has got a little bit of feathering and is just shy of a quarter saluki.
  21. Nice fox? I thought they were all ugly vermin flea bags that need dispatching? With rifle of course.
  22. Any half decent dry food for one meal a day and 2 meals a day of various raw did well for my pup. He is now 5 month and cut down to 2 meals a day, he has redmills dry about 4 times a week and the other meals either offal, tripe, beef offcuts, chicken wings, lamb mince, lamb ribs, poultry knecks, eggs etc. I would never go back to exclusively dry again. Gaz
  23. Thats a very nice bitch scotty. I agree she has thrown away from the bull and looks alot like sal/whip/grey. It just goes to show how they can throw different ways. My dog is less than 1/4 saluki, 3/16 actually, but there was saluki on both sides and he appears saluki like. Thanks for info, Gaz
  24. Thanks skycat, that is what I thought. Once again your reply is appreciated. Gaz
