  1. Nice pics mate. I got my lurcher to start lamping. I didn't know what mooching was. Now I'm out for a mooch nearly everyday and it is the best part of working dogs for me. Cant beat it. Gaz.
  2. That pup is a ringer for my sal/whip/grey when he was a pup. Exact same colour and markings. The amount of times I hear "nice collie/grey mate". Lol. All the best. Gaz.
  3. Thanks for the thorough reply Moll. I wasn't aware that the boosters actually did anything. I have read and been told more than once that they are just a money maker. I will give it some consideration. Thanks, Gaz

  5. Second whats said above. Sounds like it could be diet related. I had an EBT that developed something similar at 3 years of age. We ruled out allergy as he had been fed the same since a pup. Turned out he was allergic to wheat and gluten. Which was in the food he had been having for 3 years. Gaz
  6. Thanks for replys. I know boosters are a waste of time and cash but I was wondering if vets will keep you on there books if you refuse to have them? Gaz

  9. My lurcher is registered with a vets and had his jabs when he was a pup. My terrier is not registered yet, I believe she was jabbed up by previous owner. My question is - can vets refuse to treat dogs without paperwork to say it's jabbed up? And also what do they or can they do if you decline the annual boosters? I'm expecting a letter at 12 months to say pup is due booster vaccinations. Cheers, Gaz
  10. As said above there are so many different ways. For about the first 4 months i fed a meal of complete biscuit about 5 times a week for piece of mind that he was getting vitamins and minerals. Main diet was breast of lamb and minced tripe. Also various minced meats, offal, cooked veg and rice, brown bread soaked in egg and goats milk, tinned fish in oil. Think variety. Good luck.
  11. I wouldn't of removed bone if fed raw. It is good for them. Mine eat whole trout/sprats/mackerel regular. Don't even cut them up, they have fun tucking in. Gaz
  12. Cheers blackstaff. I have read that you have a handy bitch? Was she working bred or regular kc staffy? Gaz
  13. Thanks for reply mate. That was my thinking, even if it wasn't bred off workers then it might pick a thing or two up watching the older dogs mooching about. Cheers Gaz
  14. Thanks for the posts lads. You lads who have put pics up - Are your dogs bred from workers or not? Gaz
  15. Also who moved this? I specifically wanted this in the lurcher section. It wasn't accidentally ot carelessly placed in the wrong section like most which don't get moved. My topic is about SBT working alongside lurchers, rabbiting, marking, bushing etc with and for lurchers. Surely something better suited to lurcher section than earthdogs and working terriers? Thanks Gaz
  16. Thanks for replys. We will probably have one in 12-14 months when my pup has had his first season. Like I said. He is mainly gonna be a pet and we just like staffords. But he will be out mooching with the other dogs and my mates dogs 2/3/4 times a week as soon as he is jabbed so with some luck he might make a decent mooching dog. My next question was gonna be about working lines. Are there many about? Obviously it would have a better chance of making a worker if from workers as opposed to just show/pet fatties. Gaz
  17. Thanks for replys. TB25 - I have had a JRT bitch, 3 years old. She was farm bred for ratting but then got given to the blokes sister as a pet where she was being deprived of what she wants to do. She is a mental busher and will go through anything to flush anything. She is settling in well. Blan89 - I appreciate they aren't hunting dogs, i have got a saluki/whippet/grey for edible quarry mate. My missus wants one as a pet, I've always had a soft spot for them so just wondering if they have a place mooching? If nothing else he will have a good active life. You lads who have
  18. Has anyone got a staffy that they take mooching and working alongside the lurchers? The missus wants to get one, it will probably be next year now. Just wondering if people think one would be of much use in the field? Are there many working bred staffys about? Not crosses or amstaffs etc. Cheers Gaz
  19. I know this is a few weeks old but has anyone got any pics of half cross bull whippets? Ive done a search and most of them are 1/4 whippet. Also what height does this cross tend to reach? Gaz
  20. If they are waiting further down the road then they must struggle with conviction? Assuming they are after poachers, if the lads were empty handed then could they do anything? Ive heard about this "going equipped" bollox but don't know If they can convict? Surely that would mean any old man walking his rescue greyhound over some fields could be "going equipped"? Its all bullshit. Gaz
  21. Strong Stuff all the way. Ive had a collar and lead off him in the past for my Dobermann. More than happy. Ive got an order being made by him now... 2" Camo Collar for Lurcher and 1" Camo Collar for Terrier with black leads made to the sizes I wanted all kitted out with subtle union jack badges. His customer service is great and you can request pretty much anything. You would pay strong stuff prices at most pet shops and they only last a few months if your lucky. Gaz
  22. Thanks for contact detail Moll and thanks to others for replys. Ive just emailed them. Do your dogs do well on it? Firm stools? I intend to feed the chicken or lamb mince % of the time with tripe, fish, veg, rib bones and eggs occasionally. Gaz
  23. Does anyone know if the minced meats from DAF, chicken, lamb, beef, rabbit etc contain bone and offal? I am looking for a good mince, meat, bone, offal etc that I could use as a basis for raw feeding. My dogs get the runs if I feed just minced meat on it's own so was looking for something with bone on. Gaz
