  1. What about domestic dogs in certain countrys who roam as a pack. Theres a pecking order established in them packs.and they are domestic dogs.who has the best scraps from bins.etc. I dont think dogs have lost that pack instinct years ago. They seem to revert straight back to pack animals after being domesticated for 100s of years.
  2. Lol.just quote it.and change a word slip.
  3. Does he come to your house or go to him lol
  4. I agree wilf but life is full of dangers. Its a tricky subject. With so many ifs and buts. Only the owner can make his own decisions. If someone wants to buy a big powerfull dog.who are we to argue with there choice.

  6. It does work with petrol engines.....the revs normally drop when the battery is disconnected Ah right it was yrs ago.The petrol engines had rotor arms and distributor caps then. Dont know if that made a difference to todays cars.
  7. I remember my old mate 60 at the time. Telling me about a woman bringing her staff dog to him as she was having problems with it. Her husband was working away through the week and home at weekends. The lad came home 1 Friday evening and told the dog to get off his arm chair in the kitchen. The dog blanked him.he went to move the dog off the chair and the dog snapped at him but just missed him. The guy was adamant that the dog had to go. Which caused a big row. The dog was obviously trying to rule the roost so to speak and must of thought a bit of aggresion her and i can be on top and do
  8. Yea cant see why that wouldnt work. And as tiercel said about the diff is spot on. I remember a lad showing me a trick before how to charge a flat car battery. He had a diesel car. Started the car.removed the battery and put a flat battery on the car wbile running.letting the alternator charge the flat battery. The car didnt stop running with no battery as it was a diesel. Obviously wouldnt work with a petrol engine as that needs a spark to keep running.
  9. Theres the tracksuit wearing youth on the street corner who want big dog for a status symbol type nonsence gold chain on the neck and big dog.The look at me idiots. Then there the other side of the spectrum who want the dog for temperament and to be a family member. This is a dog i had many moons ago. My 3 young lads grew up with him. He would sit next to my lads on the carpet when they had a plate of food on the carpet.he wouldnt look at the food. Amazing temperament on him.the lads would ride on his back.hang off his tail.i bought him for a guard dog to be honest. But if the wife was o

  11. Hi Gnash,You and me kind of had that conversation on another thread and, I think I may have not put my view across very well. Please, don't get me wrong, I'm not some animal rights luvvie.... There are good dogs and there are bad dogs. There are good owners and there are bad owners. As already said in this thread, problems occur when people stop remembering that they have an animal living in their home. ..... A dog is a dog is a dog. It's a basic pack animal with muscle and teeth. Whether it weighs 4kg or 40kg. The dog is a basic animal with basic instincts and relatively low intelligence
  12. Practically everyone replying on this read is a dog owner. And has been for yrs and yrs. We all like to work dogs.train dogs.feck most of us are obssesed with feeding dogs.and most of us can spot a dodgy dog by its behaviour and body language etc. Then theres people who dont give much thought about there dog/dogs. And havent got the experience to put the dog at the bottom of the pack order in the household. And just let the dog do what it wants.when it wants. Look what happens in a wild dog pack. The young dogs coming up want to reach the top.be alpha dog. And the only way to achieve t

  18. I have about 10 year ago,a brindle bitch bought as 8 week pup ,it was about 18 months old, when it attacked my shepherd Lurcher I went to separate them,it was that fired up it snapped at me, I hit it once, then grabbed its lead an took it straight into vets PTS.What was the reason the staff attacked the lurcher. From what I can gather the lurcher had the nerve to walk inbetween me an the staff, we was out in back garden,I had the lurcher before the staff as well, the staff wasnt a tall one,but she wasn't one of these roly poly types either .So you got the dog pts? Let's rephrase that, you got a d
