  1. Can't speak for another man but maybe there proud with what they do and won't let a few antis or govenmental tw*ts stop them sharing in something a few of us hold dear? and if so then i for one salute them and thank them for sharing
  2. Good to hear he's on the mend mate, very good news.my bitch has self entered with the retieving feather and has handed me a couple of pigeons she gone off and found by herself and brought back live to hand.Good luck with him although i doub't he'll need it and i'm sure your'll come home with a smile on your face and a happy sucessfull dog.
  3. All totally within the act .over a site like this??Accidents happen when trail hunting keep to the gamebird protection legally dispatched . Hounds marking to ground ain't illigal, the digging of a gamebird killer isn't either.Crack on lads and more like this post please
  4. One has had a problem with barking at rabbits,he'll smash into anything else but pulls up and barks at rabbits be they shot and wounded or unharmed??????.He'll sit, retrieve, jump and guard but don't seem to want to do rabbits,it's a shame as the chap has put some work into him but if it won't work it can't be kept sort of thing. The others are doing well and the other dog pup is a real belter of a looker and is getting there in the working dept, off out to try my bitch with the ferrets and longnets this weekend so i'll let you know how we get on or will i be spending the next week trying to untan
  5. Well done mate and at last some pics of the hounds lol.
  6. Feel the same about being born at the wrong time but if we had been born in the good old days maybe we'd all be on the other side of the world doing time down under lol.I also feel if we dn't hang onto these old time ways then they will die out for sure, been walking in the footsteps of a few old norfolk names latley,McKenzie and Rolf to name but 2 and i feel it's a duty to continue the old traditional ways .
  7. Kat and Lady and that pup Whispa's not doing to bad either, ooopps there not really ment to be here are they!!.lol.
  8. I used to rat this farm tip years ago near swindon/marlbrough and used to hang all the rats i caught up like that and when the farmer caught me one day he was well pleased with my efforts and gave me permision to carry on,before anyone says should have asked first i said this to him and he told me he would have said feck off lol.Grand pics there and used to love seeing them when i was a kid, still do as it goes and nout wrong with tradition.
  9. Had to get the pup out last night as i haven't done much with her over the weekend due to being in west wales for a mates wedding, well the night went well concidering she's been sat up for a good few days and a few things were retrieved after being shot. She was run along with another dog to help with the retrieving and stuck to her task very well indeed and nothing was not retrieved she was tried on,a pic of one of the three that was brought to heel last night as the mates i went with both kept one each .Pups coming on well at nearly 11 months now and with the amount of game that was running
  10. Well done dog and lads, good old do for you all.
  11. Well done mate, been thinking how you got on today and looks like you were having better fun than me felling a tree at the mother in laws.Remember that camera on friday and new batteries lol.
  12. Well done and keep at them mate, getting a few and the birds roost that bit safer tonight.
  13. As it goes stevie most of the pullies are above terrier hight and just about all of the rats bolt away from the thresher so it's quite safe for them,i brushed up against one of the wheels yesterday and scarred the sh*t out myself as once they get you they get you good and proper. As for Nick doing some work he got a sweat on for sure and the dust from a threshing session has to be seen to be belived, still good to be involved with it all and a real look into how things used to be done. One of the reasons the kids missed school was not just for the ratting but to show them a real part of history w
  14. Don't let the tw*ts dampen your day mate and well done on getting some sport and well done for tidying up someone elses mess, how hard is it really to leave things tidy ffs?.
  15. A day out a old school farm who still does things the old way saw us running a few terriers at some rats whilst they were threshing out a rick, things were very quiet to start with but the kids and the pup occupied themselves catching mice until the rats appeared and appear they did but they had us worried for a bit as the rick was almost gone before they did show.We had a loose count up at the end and got the 100 mark with the rats and half a bucket of mice, the white russell was new to the game but got stuck in and soon learned to bite harder lol.The plummer pup wasn't let go on big rats as he
  16. Poorly attended at Rougham as well and just a pegged out ring on the edge of of an airfield with a burger bar, waiste of time to be honest and that bloke i was stood next can talk some sh*te and he was so short he would have had a 3rd leg for it to true.
  17. A lad who used to be on here was a keeper and they had an artic run to ground by a terrier and has it stuffed,it had escaped from somewhere and being keepers it was clased as vermin and delt with.
  18. Well done again Mooska and penny's pup looks a cracker(smooth pup winner) as well,i went to the rougham show and wished i hadn't bothered, met a few nice folks but had to listen to a my cocks bigger than yours fella stood by the ring all day.Well done all and wish i had gone there instead.
  19. Have to say i let some lads onto a bit of mine and got burnt, but saying that i've done the same since and been respected by other lads, been onto others ground and never thought about ever going back without them. It's nearly as bad as having your misses done by one of your mates when you get fecked over after trying to help someone out.
  20. Well Terrie and Wild Rover i myself like i say ain't complaining how she's coming on and the other pups are coming on well as well as far as i know, entering to retrieving bigger stuff solo and with help. She hunts and chases in silence but will growl at people and dogs no matter how near or far they are from me out in the field, someone would be doing well to sneek up on me out and about ,took her ferreting for the first time over the weekend and she did very well marking up and catching a bolted bunnie. She's learning the lamping game and will retrieve feather day or night as well,if she carrie
  21. They've been know to have been mistaken for a duck in the gloom of evening flight ,these old boys need spec savers!.
  22. They can sure help in retrieving a long ear or two(3 of the 9 and the most bunnies that day) though and even get there first on one, faster than she looks(white bitch on left of pic)and at nearly 11 months is doing well in all i've asked and i ain't complaining .
  23. There was a otter trust center near Bungay and when that closed a few were released localy and they have caused havock with the local fishing lakes, double figure fish being found half eaten and to be honest i've met a few old boys who have slipped a 410 into there rod bags when out fishing to try to protect the fish stocks. Was even asked by one baliff to walk a pond or two with the terriers to look for a holt, but i declined of course..
  24. Don't agree with it what so ever but i'll bet there's enough lads on here who will have a course on old ginny and leave the game in a ditch in the name of match money, sport or not wanting to be caught with it in the motor,i find plenty of rabbits left in fields to rot by shooters as well.Just because it's a different colour don't make it any worse than any of what i've seen,a waisted life is a waisted life.
