  1. primers 3 pence each 40 grain v max heads 17.5 pence each 223o powder is £23 tub..not sure how many rounds we get because we are load developing other peoples rifles and use quite abit... there is an awful lot to learn as regards re loading..even to seating depth of ther bullet for your rifle has a huge bearing on accurcy...
  2. sinse iv been on this site i have always tried my best to post as close to the truth as possible...i have two lurchers that i work....they are half brothers and as differant as chalk and cheese.it seems you get very little respect for honesty hear....if you post that your dog ran eight rabbits in a night and you caught five it has very few veiws and even less people post a response....which really is a shame..there are some decent dog men on hear but they tend to stay in the shadows and say little.one man that has some very decent dogs put a challenge up that he would be happy to run his dogs
  3. i know a few fao's and land that has already been passed is on computer as being passed..when its passed they rate it for a maximum caliber...when i had a closed ticket and got new permission id ring my feo, give him the address and generly he would say if it had been already passed and for what calibre.......differant area's have differant ways of doing things i guess..if you dont play the game they can get the arse......
  4. i used to use factory 55g amo in my 223..zeroed at 100 yards i was getting 7 inch drop at 200 yards...95% of my shooting is at night....i didnt think the 6x42 was good enough for the job so i bought the 2.5-12x56 to replace the 6x42 on my 223 mainly because my mates with centre fires were using hi mag scopes......i changed my amo to home loaded 40g well stoked v max....now im 1inch high at 100 yards..3/4 inch high at 200yards and bang on at 280 yards....i work for myself so most days i take the 223 into the field and practise.iv got to know my rifle well and decided to leave the 6-42 on...i am
  5. i use a s/b 6x42 on my 223 and have no trouble doing 270 yards rabbits...thats a hungarian...i also use a 2.5-12x56 german s/b on my hmr and there is no difference in quality at all.both great scopes.....only possible criticism is that the cross hair may be a little thick....but you will soon get used to it....my mate has a 222 cz has been cleaned twice since 1991 and shoots brilliantly..with a little trigger work they make great rifles......
  6. have you sprayed any light oil into the mod?? was there a build up of unburnt powder?? was the rifle clipping the mod?? when you retrieved all the parts did it look like it had failed because of pressure?? sounds very much like a duff mod really..when they are proofed they are only put 10% over working pressure...some pics would be of interest if possible??
  7. .....box section rock slider sills £150......chequer plate wing tops £30....hole in roof with frame and alloy cover to shoot out of £150....cheuqer bonnet £75....fuel pump convertion extra bhp £40.....matalic paint job £1ooo......mgf leather seats £100....steel cubby box suitable to lock amo in £.....discovery transfer box £250..p reg???300 tdi??? will take boost being wound up and an upgrade intercooler will make vast iprovments.dont mess with the boost unless youve got a gauge...dump valve is somthing diferant ..i make most of the stuff mentioned pm me if you want anymore info......
  8. i will vouch for this dog...shadow is a great ferreting dog,and is coming on well on the lamp.and he is as keen hell at night,iv seen him retreve three fox's in one evening..if somone has the time this pup will be somthing special....i would have him myself but my mrs says six is enough...well unless you'll tale £25 for him earth??????? woz
  9. ok john its a fair cop you busted me mate!!!!!!!!
  10. get yourself out there mate and do some leg work...knock some doors..every farm you come accross...expect 95% of them to say no...when you get some permission and a good name more will come...would be serprised if you get anyone off hear taking you out..people have done this before and had there fingers burnt...

    CHID AN ANTI ?

yeh sorry chid i said you were a part time policeman we all know your a top man and hunter.......
  14. cheers FUBAR will sort it tomorow,if i dont get anywere, when we get our little slip of paper saying they are planning to come over the ground they will be told no....will split the hunting ground in half ..see how they like getting the pack and riders over the 41 safely....
  15. :notworthy:maltenby....dummy re fitted...sorry thought it was going to turn into another witch hunt...if i post somthing and im wrong im man enough to edit it and make good glad to see you are to...many thanks
  16. i would love to say that these two charming men from the kennals were trying to protect next years sport for there lords and masters, they were out with there lurchers which arnt rabbitting dogs!!they both poach them self's...they dig day and night...the ground we met on is 20 miles from the hunts ground....the farmer that owns the land i was on has never heard of them...i really dont care what they get upto, each to there own.all as i wanted was an appology for the shit they gave me..one of them was stood behind the drivers door tight to the side of the landy with a bar in his hand and the othe
  17. when i was younger i could be fairly hot headed and two little punks like them wouldnt of bothered me..BUT now i have rifles and i had rifles on me at the time,i thought that if id of got into a situation with them and the police would of been called (which they would of done) id be the one that lost my sport.....
  18. i was out last night on my ground.had just pulled into a field which iv hunted for four years now, when a car screamed up and blooked us in..two aggersive little muppits came running up to the vehicle shouting and screaming that i was poaching, threatening violance...after a heated debate they left...with some reasearch i found out that it was one of the terrier men from the north shrops hunt at lee brockherst kennals and his son in law..which had no permission at all to be on that ground....i rang him today and said that i had checked with the landlord and i was the only one that should of be
  19. your really in 300tdi bracket........200tdi are getting a little long in the tooth and the 300 is a better vehicle..you can also go the v8 way if your rich and can stand a vehicle doing 15 mpg.......300tdi suffer from..2nd gear syncro in gearbox...alot of them grind if you change from 1st to 2nd to quicky.isnt to much of a problem as long as its not to bad....rot on the bodies....boot floors/sills/rear door closers/front inner wings....engines are pretty bomb proof...somtimes suffer head gaskets going...go for the highest spec you can find..the ES or GS are well specked.....other than that spa
  20. run them in 223 and 222 couldnt get them to group...4inch group at 100 yards was the best after an afternoon load devaeloping them...
  21. rabbitting dog narrows it down...i wont have a lamping dog going out ferretting..i dont value a good nose on a lamping dog..iv seen to many hunt when they loose the rabbit...hears my two.the one on the right is collie/grey/suluki....they are both 4 years old and unfit at the moment
  22. it dosnt really matter how its bred aslong as it has a bit of collie in it...just gives them a little bit of brain.i recon if you want an all rounder thats what id go for if i had the choice again.....if you just want a dog to do one job get a specialist.ie coursing get suluki blood, ferreting get beddie blood, walking around the town looking cool get a bull x....... just kiddin about the bull x's
  23. your wrong mate........if you are affraid for your life you CAN use reasonable force..and reasonable force can be from shouting at the intruder to taking there life.it all depends on cerconstances at the time..it dont matter if there up stairs down stairs or in your shed......as for security youve got to do what you can really..put switches on your gates and laser running along your walls/fences with an alarm in your bedroom so its just load enogh to wake you but not be heard from outside.then if they come over the wall it brakes the laser and they dont know you know they are there....gaurd d
  24. well ask your dad when he's going to give me that old collie x he's got in that pen behind your house???
  25. alot on hear dont like them,as a training aid i dont either...if you train a dog coorrectly there is little need for a shock collar..BUT what i will say if you have stock broken your dog and it needs a permanent reminder as to the rules you cant fault them...some dogs just need a shock and it stays with them for ever curing the problem...the problem occurs because the shock system is open to abuse from bad trainers and they will do alot more harm than good...as for price there not cheap ours was around £160..but you can rent them iv been told..if you do go down this route, hold it against your
