    Fair comment Stav .In real life I’m the same bud but on here ,I treat it as amusement whether it’s liked by others or not ,only myself to please tbh and the rest can swivel . Used to like putting stuff up ,was proud to do so but I get bored easy.

    To be honest Stav if they have other interests they ain’t on it proper mate .I live and breath the game ,hunting shooting and fishing and there’s nothing else that does anything for me . If I’m not doing it I’m reading about it ,writing about or watching you tube . Also mate ,don’t you find it boring to write out a thread that just gets 10 likes .Far better to engage with lads and put them straight than smile and write the next one .I’m all for peaceful debate but I get bored easy and besides there’s still a few who would benefit from being told they are doing it wrong ?

    Apparently Vimeo is where it’s at .You have to pay to watch some hunting vids that you tube apparently won’t support .That mink chap often puts links to Vimeo pay vids of dogs on raccoons etc .

    No shortage here mate ,just a shortage of decent lads to go out with .Maybe my know it all attitude or my skinhead appearance complete with braces and crombie keep them away or maybe just the fact I live for it where most just dream it .Hard to come close to a standard that wants to kill deer not watch them and defo not many want to get out nights 3 -4 times a week .

    Thinking about it .If old SD has any respect for quarry he wouldn’t be going out shooting fox with a 17 knowing ,expecting to give everything a follow up shot .No respect at all in that from my perspective and that goes for anyone else too. Its damn right disrespectful to knowingly set out with a gun that’s described as marginal then actually shoot a fox twice to cover your arse . The other thing is this ….who in their right mind posts stuff these days purely for two likes when there’s a few pages out of being confrontational ?.

    I guess different people have a different take on what’s dead and what’s not and the after affects of a good shot to the vitals . Ive seen hundreds of foxes do exactly what that did in the vid and twitch a bit to lie still ,totally and utterly dead . Perhaps the 17 isn’t right for some but the lad i see use one loves his and is very confident with it .Never seen a fox get up nor owt different than when shot with the .223 . If a few think the 17 is marginal then don’t use it on fox ,simples really . Been out with and seen some iffy shots with all calibres so says more about

    Don’t think I’ve ever suggested don’t shoot a spinning fox again mate neither did you write it was spinning in your doomed previous post mate or I’d said well done for hitting it whilst spinning .Just seems a bit strange to double tap a dead un that’s all . I may of looked for a rise in the past but I’m a changed man now where your concerned as I know your a bit delicate .     Had a mate and his son over for a stalk and ratting in the afternoon .Parked in a gateway furthest from the farm and walked back into the ground to play the wind .Wasn’t long before I saw a doe slip through a hedge undisturbed by us then through a hunt gate we bumped half a dozen including a decent buck in velvet .No worries ,won’t be the last .In the next large field there was a doe and two followers feeding along the hedge so hatched a plan to skirt round the hedge line to close the distance .Nearly to a shooting point and the doe just wandered into the hedge followed by the two young .

    Tis shite watching an old warrior deteriorate mate .Ratting yesterday, I looked at the old Pat bitch I have and the memories of past digs came flooding back as I chatted to a lad who been on a few with her ,she waddled after a rat that the young un stole .She’s 13 going on 20 and wants to fight everything ,a last blow out I guess .She’s a real softy at home with her daughter but hates anything else . Be a very sad day when she’s gone . Hope your dog gets the relief it deserves mate .

    Understood SD but you’ve been around enough to see that fox was dead as soon as you shot it first time .I don’t see any respect sticking another in .If it’s spinning around yes but not that shot .Each to their own but seems very strange to me .

    Mint answer Paul and spot on .The big hunt near me used to meet at 4 local pubs and meets put on the card now it’s only on a need to know basis and meets are in lanes ,car parks and fields .
