    Can’t say I’ve seen a change in foxes over the time I’ve been controlling them .Sizes ,shape varying as with any population of anything .

    I would say that if a hybrid was fertile and the breeds that went into it were diminished then it would indeed breed a new sub species .Hybrids tend to happen on the fringe edges of a range of one species and another .The offspring breed with either of the parents being the most common available .Sika ,red hybrids are fertile but there is now a problem with red looking deer carrying sika genes and vice versa .Must be same for cats .The highland range of the Scottish wildcat overlaps both house and feral cats from urban overflow .If nothing is done and urban sprawl continues the wildcat in it

    Had an invite ,well to tell the truth I sorted of invited myself to be honest ??. Mate up near Oxford has a cracking piece of ground but he does need the odd push to get out on it .We we’re stalking by 1730 and the weather looked a bit overcast .We we’re after a late season fallow buck and the usual plan here is for me to get on the point of a hedge facing a wood whist mate goes round the back and walks it through .Very strict code as to shooting .I won’t shoot unless there’s the grass bank behind and he won’t shoot to his right coming through the wood .     I’ve said I’d step back from the thread but I see your still making abusive posts .Walshie must love you Paul or he’s just another mouth piece like yourself . Your right about urban ferals though ,never seen one that looked healthy tbh .Skinny and invariably carrying the cat flu . Rural ferals another animal altogether .You’ve seen the pic of the one I shot with rifle as a scale so I’ll not bore you with it again . Youve always decried any thought that these large cats could be nothing more than large ferals but I see a change in tack now which can only be a good thing .Scottish
