    The break through is often where most go wrong from what I’ve seen .No finder will put you directly on the dog in all soil types . Pays to listen when you have a flat bottom to the dig and you think you are inches away .Even mute dogs need to breath heavy . I used to be so hyped up to break through when I was younger that I’d collapse it in on the dog ,separate quarry or miss the tunnel completely until I started listening to the dog .The ultimate break through to me is on the dogs neck so the soil can be moved away gradually to see exactly what’s going on even if the dog is scream

    Been to the states and seen yotes in their natural environment .They vary greatly in size according to prey hunted apparently . In Canada they were tiny in comparison but in wolf country I was told they don’t do well . Weights apparently vary from 15 to 30 kg for big males ,some difference to a fox that barely tops 10 kg .Understand the lack of commitment by the dogs shown , not seen a single vid on the tube of single handed dogs taking yote cleanly but in a country where hunting liberty is a right I don’t see any wrong in saving one when 3 will do . We tend to think purist here

    Why the feck would anyone ever take a “very good coursing type “ out lamping in the first place mate . When coursing was the thing here ,the two runners were poles apart .Coursing dogs are all about straight lines and big country .Get a turning dog and your made . Lampers ran clever with a decent speed to up a gear when needed . We had 11 coursing kennels local here ,now track artists . Best lurcher I ever owned was a terrier unknown x whippet grey .Took it all locally and only 22 to the shoulder . Saw all the Hancock stuff come and go .
