    I did a day in a seat mate ,bored silly until a goshawk put in an appearance .The only time they break cover cover there is to get into the next block of forestry and they don’t hang around in doing so .We saw maybe 15 hinds and a stag cross at Mach 10 from waiting up places . My style is to go looking for sign and try and get a response at wallows etc .

    Might be something in that mate but I tried everything .Calling ,snapping branches and splashing water at scrapes and wallows , only managing to call hinds .He’s got an out of season license on the ground but I wanted a stag .Called another stag to the edge of the forestry only to see a walker spoil the hunt . Could of shot a roe doe on the ride but as you know I’ve had my fill of them .We will be back next year with a new plan .

Our trip up to sika land in the borders was hard ,very hard .The buggers just don’t show unless they are doing Mach 10 across the rides .Called a stag but was scuppered by a walker .Shot a roe buck in Cumbria on the way back down to Englandshire . Blooded the new 30-06 anyway .

    Exactly that Gnash .One man can’t do feck all but why didn’t you join others of likeminded persuasion and fail as a team . I joined a team and we failed but if taking part is all that matters then yes ,I too can look in the mirror head held high . What I meant was if we’d all stuck together back in the day things might of been different .As it is our best wasn’t good enough ,meant very little to those that would listen .
