  1. As i thought ,talker not a walker ,hot air to impress the keyboard stalker of which you are president it seems .
  2. I wear the stuff all the time and what i shoot speaks for itself .My ground is fields and hedges and do OK. Maybe ,just maybe we could see a pic of your outings with an account to go with it .
  3. You state in your wordly wisdom ,that most woodland stalkers wear the tweed ,cotten or wool Get out a bit more and meet the people you set to use as an example .That the realtree works is unquestionable but then again you wont question what you have done for years 'wirevizosaurus' Does being seen with a rifle in cords and tweed mean any less to the public than if i was in realtree ,no not a bit .In fact the reatreee serves to confuse the human eyes more than our quarry that rely on other more sophisticated means to stay alive .As a background breaker ,realtree is the one for me in my situat
  4. Weve recently had a few otters released on the avon near us .Not the otter native to the British Isles though ,apparently this is the european otter which is bigger .The holts were in place last year and the animals released unceromoniously some time in spring .Nothing in the press ,a low key manouvre by some misinformed group of licenced well wishers that have had a vast impact on the fishing on this once productive barbel section .Reports of double figure fish on the bank with a few bites missing are comimg in and the wild fowl ,once commen here is giving it a wide berth .Ive seen the otter
  5. Trouble is ,what guarantee have you that it wont happen again even if the offenders are rounded up .Seems to me that its a simple case of boundary fencing and that as he has livestock to fence in its his job to do so .I would be quoting the old finders keepers to the baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaastard
  6. The first of the maize is coming off now which im sure makes a hell of a difference mate .
  7. Its very easy to get sentimental about the good old times and lets face it they were GREAT times. In this i mean the working border but personally i think its gone ,never to return as a mainstream worker .Lets face it who wants to spend their lives on a whim and a prayer ,not me .Call it ruination ,call it negligence or just plain evolution but for my part they are gone for good .Seems to me a clever way to promote a book but who am i .
  8. Nice buck that mate .Good on you for putting him there again .
  9. Out last night on the quad to do a place that we shot a fair few off earlier in the season .The farmer is attempting to start a small shoot and wants the foxes kept to a minimum. Some fields cut freshly today so we headed straight for these as experience says thats where any foxes will be ,cleaning up whats been through the mower .In the first gateway ,lamp on and charlie belts through the hedge just inside the gate .Another is running literally for its life up the field and away so a retreat and onto the next field .Another fox in here but hes not acting right and a look through the scope reve
  10. Another charlie mate ,good on you .Good season on them so far unlike us
  11. Move with the times you fossil , your full of crap and we all know it.Hows the passion for talking site now this is your homepage ,lonely eh .
  12. It is mate but to some its too modern to be seen in .From 300 yards or thereabouts ,which i believe is where most deer are spotted on the hill, the human form in camo against a background is undistinguishable with the naked eye .Deer have poorer eyesight than us .A stalker in anything else stands out to me like a spare part really as ive proved many a time .As long as you keep movement to a minimum then you are as one with the landscape in realtree .Can you say that about tweeds or cords . .
  13. The main lesson here is descretion .Shooting pigeons in any number on a hot day is always a worry as to the quality of meat afterwards .When the birds are winging in well whose going to stop shooting to debreast a few while birds whip by the hide ,not many .I agree about cartridges ,thats a no-no but to dispose of a bag of pigeons DISCRETELY can save a few head of game as charlie concentrates his activities on an easy bounty .Just my thoughts so dont jump down my throat .
  14. Essence captured perfectly mate ,enjoyed the read .FD
  15. No apology from me .You seem to think its your way or no way .Ive read more than enough of your posts on here and other sites and thats my conclusion ,like it or not .
  16. Wireviz you dont half spout some crap and no apologies for saying that either
  17. Martin came up for an evenings stalk on one of my best bits of ground .The wind couldnt have been better and i walked to the first brow full of confidence .In the first of the fields likely to hold deer i saw a doe through some brambles overhanging the gateway and peering around these i could see another three deer ,two fawns and a buck .A very good buck for the area actually .Opening the gate wasnt an option but luckily there was a big gap underneath one corner and i slid underneath with ease , the racing snake that i am .Martin was left to his own devises and im sure he wont be offended if
  18. We aren't seeing numbers at all mate ,only shot two in 7 outings but then again plenty of deer to while away the hours Good do there from the pair of you .
  19. I did ask Dropper to get his face in the pic ,but,he wasn't having it...........lol Martin. Jesus Marty, he would be scaring the poor stripeys off with his ugly mush........ Actually it was my calming presence that kept them docile ,Martin was all for poking it and running but i stopped him .If youd been there ,to get a pic that close you would have poked it anyway .lol
  20. Live traps ,fox traps at least ,need pegging down .Slightest rock and you have a trap shy fox .Best way of baiting is to dig a hole at the bait end and [small hole ]place bait in that .Cover floor yes but dont go silly so the door wont close [yes ive done that in the early days but learn fast lol].As for trying to colour the mesh ,dont bother as a fox that is that shy wont look at a trap at all .
  21. As far as im aware ,you would be committing a crime by shooting the cat even on your own property .You are aware that it belongs to someone therefore you should be informing them that you wont stand for the thing killing your birds ,if it does ,and that you will shoot the thing if caught .The difference is that you have informed the owner of your intentions before the act .Set a cage trap that will take the thing alive .What you then do is down to your discretion .Shooting the cat without prior warning will land you in the shit mate ,that i do know .
