  3. theres a few showing at lower lydbrook [just of the dean]2 were seen grubbing about by the pumping station september time, plenty trotter prints on the water line, and post rubbings on station fence..................steve
  4. well ive got one,11yr old bitch russell/yorkie,been a grafter all her life on rabbits rats and helped out under ground quite a bit in her younger days.shes not as hard as a purpose bred earth terrier but got the gameness just the same.as for bushing and marking i could never fault her,but rats are still even today at 11 her favorites..............steve
  5. micro ferrets mouth same size as a stoat i guess and they handle rabbit ok,i cant see the gameness bred out of them because a ferret is a ferret no matter what size.
  6. Tell chalky the blackcountry boys have got their heads up down here incase anything passes through.
  7. same here in the west mids.good specimen tench and all manner of coarse fish taken daily all season out one of the best stretches of canal in the country.they fished inbetween match days at night or even on the ends of pegged out matches, this year coming is going to be diffrent 50 plus anglers are keeping an eye out ,taking turns day and night to stop these scavenging c***S,these are the scum that ate the white pike i reported on this summer gone................atb steve
  8. Thanks for the reply pal.seems they get later every year, this cold snap coming might send em up . fishing at hinkley point by the plant only produced straps, moved on to the wall at high and was plagued by silver eels, still a bites better than nothing . have a good xmas mate and keep at em................steve
  9. Dont even worry about it pal, shes chasing and over shooting that shows shes game enough and got the gears to get there.over time she will gain the experience she needs to judge the twists and turns and eventualy learn to ease up and pick them off .my old bitch of 5 even now gets excited and goes like a lunatic, but after missing a cpl she soon settles back and gets to work. atb ........steve
  10. Make sure he stock broke first mate because once he gets turned on to live gear anything can happen, retrieving could be a problem if it hasnt been trained,
  11. Hi gang, any cod or whiting moved up the bristol channel yet ,between the bridges at old passage up to aust. not been off for a bit so im itching now its cold,.steve
  12. f**k THE BOAT AND GET YOUR WIFE AND SAM TOGETHER. now thats SPORT.
  13. very similar to him[same stamp.]
  14. Read some crap in me time but some posts take the cake. half the so called coursing men on here have never set foot on the big black lands and just talk a good race. That post about rosco was bang on ,he stuck his heels in and went to the end ,very inexperienced dog and still didnt jack.admitting if he had got a few more mths of running inside him he would have striked a lot sooner and got the job done in 2/3 mins, the best distance pure grey hounds in the country have only got a cpl of mins in them but on a straight line nothing to touch them.
  15. love the irish ,90 % are fantastic and make you really welcome.
  16. If it runs flys swims or crawls i,l eat it.

  17. He's got a natural ability for the game, hes like a really exceptional dog you own once in a life time ,some call em freaks. all i say is fair play to him ,thats why he's the best.
  18. Why try to explain yourself to people who dont want to know,if they take the trouble to walk all over fields without permision to get to you then all they have come for is to give you grief, no amount of talking will sway em but a 17 stone growl and me hand holding a good stick makes em think is it worth it .
  19. iv;e had rabbits nailed close to entrance just before bolting, and i thik when the ferret has got hold and he will work towards the head of the rabbit which is facing daylight, and feeling no resistance behind him like earth or roots etc he will drag it out, just a natural reaction for a ferret to drag his prize away.
  20. hi teabag hope you dont mind me adding something to your add. The cockers he has are bred to the hilt and have worked all over the country, trained to a high standard and have worked the royal grouse moors, and many high grade shoots. ive had the privilege of being out with teabag on a cpl of occations and can honestly say what he is advertising is the real working cockers not show standard. in no way am i connected to this litter but i give credit where credit is due . all the best teabag and hope the remaining pups go on to do what they were bred for. night moocher
