Spend a day there withsome help and block off as many escape routes as you can,it might seem like a never ending task blocking holes and cracks in walls or putting old stumps under doors to stop their getaway.but beleive me when you go back at night with the dogs youl catch a hell of a lot more rats.the rats arnt bothered how to get to the feeding places just bothered about their escape routes which are now blocked. shoot at night aswell nice and quiet, and smoke and dig in the day. use everything you got to nail the dirty things, enjoy it and good luck pal...............steve

Tumbler is a name for the old smithfield type lurcher of the black and tan type, been crossed out over the years to good sight hounds of the coursing type. any one can call a litter tumbler bred if they got thick wire jacket and are of norfolk type lurcher stamp. that goes for any old time breed, proving what they off is the main thing.

night moocher replied to halamrose's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
IT was a good bin fed fox ,but theres some out there that would smash his size. boys that live by us are calling in urban foxes in the street as big as him, -
Thanks for replys lads. ive been round dogs all my life and when its time for a dog to call it aday they have always stayed with me till the end,i cant give them away or pass them on after being loyal for all those years. and to be honest she dosent slow up the day its just me wanting to rest her [getting soft in me old age ] she still comes in season even at this age ,it just shows how fit the old girl is. ive had good dogs lurchers and terriers but theres always one thats a bit special and this scruffy old girl after all the battles shes had still gives me her best . the day she dosent

When is enough for a terrier to settle down infront of the fire and enjoy retirement. My old bitch is 12 now and still thinks shes 3,shes first to the motor and will still do a good days graft. best marker on rabbits, one hell of a ratter and even now she'd give old charlie a good battle if i let her, i just havn't got the heart to leave her at home. this picture was taken only 2wks ago after breaking the floor of an old poultry shed to get to her ,she stunk like an old polecat.

most intelligent sighthound?
night moocher replied to robo-christ's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Many sight hounds run on line following every turn ,where as the saluki will be thinking how to cut its prey off and box same as the deerhound. training for obediance shows inteligence in any dog, using their brain to run is down to the dog.The more they run the better they get at predicting the twists and turns. -
Rats In An Old Youth Club
night moocher replied to cumbrianrabbiter's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
Block as many escape routes as you can,and leave it until night ,go in with terriers and the ones that go for their usual escape hole will be taken because its blocked.worked many a time for me if you are allowed to take them that way. -
The only people in the country that have the gonads to stand up and say it like it is are the E.D.L mayby there are some bad uns among them but they are out there doing and saying what most of you are thinking..........steve

That punch was thrown knowing fulwell that man wasnt going to strike back. seen it lots of times when working the clubs.the man can strike but what would happen if the other guy would have got up and said lets go then. he got to think on his toes then ,not just bank on one hit. every fight in the street happens in a flurry of adrenalin lasting seconds, but like i said if that man would have been still standing and wanted to mix it ,then he got to think about it. very sad he died it should never have happened.

Thats a good picture to see ,proper old school. have you noticed how the hare has changed over the years ,from a big brute to a more athletic smaller vrsion.

Too many rich royalty twats owning vast amounts of land up there got it stopped.

blitz ok but the KC spot off a waggon will melt the striker or blitz ,1 problem its a fixed beam and bulb ,so drop or bang it its knackerd.

Just a pic of a nice little trotting filly we're getting going now, as close as you can get to full bred, very dainty on the trot hardley smacks the tarmac.

cap off an old steam kettle ,a little loud at first to get him looking up and very soft blows once he coming in. try diff things on diff land ,not all foxes react the same.

Meet Guinevere – the designer bunny who thinks she's a hare. The latest must-have pet is genetically a rabbit, but called a Belgian hare. Dubbed the 'greyhound of the rabbit world', they can leap a metre (3ft) and run at 30mph – feats comparable to a wild hare (left) but which shame poor old Flopsy. Despite needing a super-sized hutch, the breed sells at £100 a time, says Guinevere's owner, Londoner Valerie Taylor.
