I was having a pint with Woodsy the evening of the riots, bet he had no idea he was going to get tugged down the line, pleading not guilty got him nowhere but I bet his pride is sky high. Lol

So, the argument is basically about the quality of governance, not necessarily the level of taxation. Governments should be more transparent and accountable in how they allocate tax revenue. No arguments from me.

Woodsy, one of the blokes locked up for the Manvers riots is being released on Monday. He was one of the few that pleaded not guilty but did end up getting found guilty and was given 2 year in October. That will be just over 4 month he's served.

Ok, so, politicians have only just started claiming expenses? So are non of your other suggestions. Again, wether we are getting out of it what we could is probably right. But, does anyone seriously suggest that if we payed less taxes then services like the NHS, our education system, our welfare state would be better off for it?

Compared to comparable places like Germany and other advanced nations in the EU we are taxed less, whether they get more out of it is another debate but to cry that we are some unique victim just isn't true.

Wouldn't we all because it clearly isn't working is it? You'll know as much as me, that even though things were getting worse, after COVID it got considerably worse in the NHS.

Yes, our services are the worst they have ever been, but, on planet are you on to think that they would be better or the same if we put in less tax revenue? The bottom feeders would still be the ones suffering with even worse services. We are still relatively well off compared to many countries, how low would you be willing to accept for a bit more cash in your pocket instead of the system?
