Hypothetical here, are you happy to see the retirement age keep rising, that much so you work until you drop or would you accept working until 40-50 in exchange for 20-30 years of happy retirement before being put down at 70? Lol

Living standards are at their worst, it's understandable. We have an ever ageing population and the percentage of the population that is earning is shrinking. I've brought up mandatory euthanasia before, perhaps it's time to discuss this? Lol

Exactly like that, but their struggles were still very real and what you're failing to understand, it was the ruin of our industries that caused these places to slowly deteriorate, we were just going through the start.

Well no shit, that's a given as our population is at its highest, still, our tax revenue is less than the developed countries in the EU. But, yes, you have a point, the taxes we raise clearly aren't doing a good enough job, my solutions, I don't know, but I do know we will suffer the brunt whatever is done.

Hahahaha, yeah we had freedom, because no cnut had a job! Fantastic stuff mate. You're looking at it through a child's eyes. Now look at it from a father's perspective, mid 80's, you're made unemployed, Christmas coming up, three kids, struggling to make ends meet, do you think you would give a toss about 40 years down the line where you might have less "freedom?"

Yeah, it was great under the Tories in the 80's and 90's, especially in villages like mine, one would think they had our best interests at heart, what with shutting down our industries and leaving thousands in search of jobs, the good old days. You clearly weren't blessed with any brains at all. Lol

I'm not talking about the farmer or the small time trader, I'm talking about multinational corporations, the abuse of limited liability within our economy, the mega rich who exploit tax havens, etc.

Quick look at a few jobs in't Canada, the rates look similar to over here, perhaps slightly less, is the cost of living slightly more over there as well? Some stunning views over there mind, could see myself on a turquoise lake in the summer.
