Gosh, you know how to win friends and influences don't you? "Thick as F**k"?? I sympathise with what you've been through, and I've made clear my feelings about the innocence of your dogs. I've always felt that to make a breed of dog 'illegal' is wrong. To destroy a dog because of it's ancestry is immoral. The point I was making was that far too many people on here post pictures and stories about things that they know are illegal. All that does is provide evidence, which is then used to prosecute, or to manipulate people into accepting cautions. If people are worried about

It's always very sad when innocent dogs are destroyed, whatever the reason. Maybe the lesson to be learnt from all of this is that if you participate in illegal activities, or have illegal items, an internet forum isn't the best place to tell everyone..... Afterall, if no laws were broken, and no evidence could be found, none of this would have happened, and the dogs wouldn't have been put down. Just a thought................

ldr-----mark brick???????????????????????????????
Matt replied to spiderpig's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
I don't think any single person has had so much written about them as Markbrick. Equally, I don't think anyone has 'bigged' themselves up as much as him, so it seems only right and proper that we keep this up. The man has caused more trouble than anyone else, and has brought all this on himself. Him and his cronies nearly brought this forum to an end, so I think a week or so of gloating is perfectly in order. As Malts suggests, if you don't care, or are not interested, just ignore the thread. The man has shown what a worm he really is. He has issued numerous challenges on here, -
Firstly, you need to classify 'pests'. There is no such thing as the 'Pests List'. Since 1981 all plants and animals have been protected to a greater or lesser degree. Some plants and animals are considered to be pests, and therefore have less protection than others. Then you need to classify the 'seasons'. There are no 'closed' seasons for the species that are commonly considered to be pests. In fact, certain pests (rats, mice and rabbits) have to be controlled by law. I think it is up to individuals to decide if their conscience allows them to kill animals that may be nur

Lovely pics Hyp. It's always nice to see em have a nice gallop on the beach....... BTW - you didn't bump into an old fat chap down there did you? He's easy to spot, last seen crying and mumbling something about a "fix"...........

Well, for someone who banged on and on about being 'genuine', MarkBrick (AKA Silver09) has certainly shown us all what a worm he really is. As someone else has already stated, if both dogs ran in the same circumstances, and both had to walk the same distance, there is no need for a rematch. LDR is a clear winner, and is also a true sportsman, unlike the big headed, big mouthed, arrogant idiot who hasn't even got the decency to congratulate the winner. Complete and utter tosser. What was it Markbrick once said? Oh, yes, I remember now.... -

Interesting topic. I always used to check my mole traps every other day, which was nice and easy, but since joining the GBM I've been checking em every day, and it's a good routine. The only thing I would say about it is that I think I get fewer double catches than I would if I was checking everyother day. The religious angle is very relevant. Some of my customers are old fashioned farmers, who take a dim view of working on Sundays. The easy answer is to lift traps on a friday or saturday, and take the day off on sundays. I always ask the farmers if they mind me checking the traps

Well Mark, it was only a matter of time before you popped up and started story telling......... What happened to: Even if what you say is true (which few will believe) that only accounts for one rabbit.... And why walk away? -

He may not have the balls to come on here and tell us about last night, but luckily for all of us, he left one or two comments on previous visits: i wont predict a winner as its not fair but all i will say it will be under 23 inch, -

Just in case MrBrick claims it was too far to travel, here is a classic 'brick' quote: Well done LDR. A well organised competition, gracefully won. -
Try doing a search on 'best bait' or reading the FAQ section....

Wise words Chalky (as always). Without getting too far into this, I don't think Fenns would've been approved for the purpose they are sold for if they weren't man enough to do the job relatively humanely. Having said that, there is no doubt that a proper bodygripper, properly set, is a hell of a killing machine. I'd never be brave enough to suggest that any trap was capable of killing instantly, every time, but equally, I'd not be too quick to condemn an approved trap........ Mind you, it's a different story if you want to discuss some of the far eastern crud masquerading as Fe

Without sounding rude, or unwelcoming, I'd suggest you have a good read of the board (especially while people are busy argueing about the merits of various traps elsewhere...). There is a very good search facility on here, and the questions you've asked have been answered many times before. Have a good read. Oh, and welcome to the forum.

If it was legal (which it isn't) for you to trap rats and then release them for terriers, I would recommend any of the British cage traps. Pre-bait until you are getting good 'takes' and then set to catch. The monarch rat trap is a good multicatch, but needs a little expertise to work well. Network make a very good single catch compact cage, which I've also used to good effect. All of this is hypothetical anyway, because like most other law abiding citizens, I could never condone what you suggest (between the text talk).

You did 'bump' it on the same day it was posted, which I think, is against the rules. Normally, I thought any breach of the rules in there resulted in the post being deleted though?

Good going Foxy. One less of the yankie invaders.... Read the STAO. Mk4's are not approved for use against Mink.
