    HEY Mate,only one arsehole, (who is in the comp), has tried to f**k it up !! And we all know who that is !! I'm out of it now, but have had a great time in it, and I hope my dog hasn't been disgraced !! I'm glad I entered and best of luck to the dogs left in !! These comps have been talked about for a long time; but this is the 1st one to come off !! Isn't it amazing that the people who are trying to slag it off didn't have the minerals to enter ????? f**k them; there WILL be a worthy winner, and I hope the comp goes on for years !! Cheers, CP.

    Thats the thing, Lurcherlovr, we can all have a good laugh at Mark, he's the clown prince of Lurchers, emphasis on "clown" !! He has more user names than you can count; and his deluded followers allow him to use their names, he HAS decent dogs, but is terrified in case he gets beat !! What a tosser !! Cheers.

    Hylts, I'm 56, and I'm sure Woodga won't mind me saying he's into his 50's, but that young bugger LDR is about 30, and to see Woodga carrying LDR, who had a rucksack with an 18a battery and ten rabbits on his back, across a river......... Well; I wish I had of had a camera !!! And he took the piss out of me for falling down once or twice !! If he keeps up with this cheek; I'll not let him carry my rabbits in future !!LOL !! Cheers.     You're right !!! A whippet can't round up sheep; it also isn't much use as a police dog, can't pull a wild boar, rescue people from avalanches, fight a pit bull, in fact theres loads of things a whippet can't do !! Why on earth are they still bred ??? LOL !!! Cheers.

    Why aren't we all running 30" Deerhound X's or 18" Beddy X's ? The answer must be we all have different needs in a dog; run different types of quarry, etc. Cheers.

    The point of this comp is, in my mind, for like minded people to meet, get out and work their dogs and have a good time. I've met a few people I would never have met if it wasn't for the comp, and will probably have nights on the lamp with them again ! What does it proove ? It prooves there is at least 16 people on here who have the confidence in themselves and there dogs, to have matches with other people and not just sit in front of a P.C. and run everything down.     Bit of a pointless argument really; would a 17" Beddy/ whippet Lurcher make a 22" Whippet look stupid ? I don't think so. Would a 23" Lurcher make an 18" whippet look stupid ? Possibly. As for the Whippet being no good in the cold; I've been out recently with a KC whippet in extreme weather, both lamping and ferreting and the cold didn't bother it a bit, and it worked as well as most Lurchers and better than some I've seen !!     Well done to LDR and Bruce , and many thanks to Woodga for judging and letting us use his permission, (and retrieving my cap !). These two dogs have worked together for almost 3 years, so they know each others game, Delta has improved with every outing, but Bruce still has the better of her. Delta missed her first three slips, which is unusul, as she is normaly up and at em from the start. Bruce took two from his first three, so I was playing catch up !! It did get to 10 - 10 at one stage, but then bruce opened up a 13 - 10 lead and kept his lead to be a worthy winner. And yes, I did fall ove

    People have the wrong idea about Ridgebacks; when they were used for hunting lions, they NEVER went in ! They were used to bale the lion until the hunter got there with a gun ! They kept well clear of the lion, or they wouldn't have lasted a minute. It looks like that one is trying to bale the badger, but a pretty poor display ! Cheers.
