  1. proper old fasioned type lurcher very nice Heres a pic of her sire, Flynn, a 1st X Beddy/Grey, (I'm sure Pat won't mind me putting a pic up ! LOL !); Pre ban, of course ! And heres a pic of her dam, Maegan, (I know Dave won't mind ! LOL !); Cheers.
  2. This wee bitch is only 1/4 Beddy, her sire is a 1st cross Beddy/Grey from Heartbreak Fell Kennels, and her dam was Deer/Grey X Whippet/Grey, but she threw to the Beddy/Grey side. Five year old now, and done everything asked of her; Cheers.
  3. At the end of the day, NONE of us are vets, and can only give you advice based on our own experiences ! If you are worried, see a reputable vet, and explain about the other dog coughing before yours did. Hope it OK. Cheers.
  4. Benylin, steam and whatever the vet sells you will only aleviate the symptoms, not cure the problem. Rest and time is the only cure for KC, it's just like us having a cold or 'flu; lots of things help, but nothing cures it ! Cheers.
  5. KC is rapidly transferred from dog to dog, and your dog most likely got it from your mates dog; so I'm not saying your house needs cleaning ! LOL ! I've had two dogs get it, and a third dog in the same kennels not get it ! But it pays to clean everything out anyway. Hope it's nowt serious and the dogs O.K. ! Cheers.
  6. Change all the dogs bedding and clean the kennel thoroughly with something like Jayes Fluid. Give the dog a rest and, if it IS KC, it should be right in a week or so. BUT, I must stress, if it gets worse, or you are worried about it; see a vet !! Cheers.
  7. Sounds like kennel cough ! A genuine vet will tell you they can't do anything about it, and will advise rest and isolation; a rip-off vet will charge you for all sorts of stuff that won't make any difference to the dogs condition ! If you have a decent vet, let them see the dog, it might be something else. Good luck ! Cheers.
  8. Got to agree with Dan; most Greyhounds I've seen didn't need any extra "fire" ! Deerhound adds coat, feet, nose, and, if the right Deerhound is used, stamina to a Greyhound. Cheers.
  9. Last year, around this time of year, I was lamping down Notts way, and we saw what appeared to be four rabbits in a field; the dog was slipped, and three rabbits ran for cover and a leveret ran out into the field ! Also, I was judging a lamping competition in Northumberland, and the same thing happened ! None of us were expecting half grown hares, but it happened. I'm sure most of us can tell the difference between a hare and a rabbit, but in these circumstances, none of us did !! Cheers.
  10. Nice, big, strong dog; but it can't be a 1st x with "a bit of Saluki" and a "bit of Bull" in him. Cheers.
  11. Unfortunatly this has been on here before ! There will allways be arseholes who advertise like this, and allways be arseholes who buy from them !! Best thing is to have nothing to do with Puppy Peddlers !! Cheers. Edited to add... The other pics, the runs are full of shit and the water is green !!
  12. Aren't your batteries on trickle charge continualy ? In the season, they should be ! Cheers.
  13. Yeah Dot, that realy adds to the discussion ! LOL ! Cheers.
  14. The "Ultimate Cross" ? How long is a piece of string ?? You'll get pleanty of answers, all will be different, and all will be wrong !! There is no sutch thing as the "Ultimate Cross" ! Breed the best to the best, for what YOU want, and hope it does the job ! Try for the "Ultimate Dog", but there is no sutch thing as the "Ultimate Cross". Cheers.
  15. I'm not sure what the OP meant by "Gauranteed"' but if a dog is doing it's stuff in it's second season, and doing it well, then it's as "Gauranteed" as a dog doing it in it's fourth or fifth season ! I do think that to many dogs are supposed to be "Gauranteed" by they're two year old, the odd one may be, but most take a few more seasons to be classed as that for me ! Cheers.
  16. £3.99 each at my local game dealer !! !! Cheers.
  17. problem is; the picture is a "240 Blitz", and what they are selling is a "170 Striker" ! Two very different lamps; so you might be disapointed with what you receive ! Cheers.
  18. The thing with lamps is you want the least number of joints/connections possible; less to go wrong !! I cut off all the fuses, cigar type connectors, etc , and connect the two lamp wires directly to the battery, then tape them over with electrical tape, so they don't come loose and also to prevent anything accidently falling across the terminals and shorting them out. Never had a problem yet ! But one thing to remember; if you cut the fuse, or anything else , from your new lamp, you will void the warranty ! Cheers.
  19. Borzoi are used in Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia, for hunting hare, fox, wolf, etc. But they are a VERY different dog to the show dogs you see here. They are also used in Staghound breeding in the U.S. and Australia, but, once again, they are NOT the show types we see here. On wide open land, against certain quarry, they have their place; but here, there are better crosses; Deerhound, Saluki, for example. Cheers.
  20. "Gobby Oiks" !! LOL !! FFS they don't even talk like that at Eton these days !!! Cheers.
  21. If I brought in a top bred Coursing Saluki from one of the Middle East kennels would you think about using it ? no Not a very illuminating reply, from some one who usualy has pleanty to say on Saluki/Greyhounds ! Cheers.
  22. If I brought in a top bred Coursing Saluki from one of the Middle East kennels would you think about using it ?
  23. Have you ever seen a real dog run ??
  24. Pure what ?? Read my replies... I have always said that the "saluki Hybrid" will beat a "Pure Saluki" every time!! And I'll stand by that ! Cheers.
  25. Well, putting a short video of one of the best coursing bitches of all time doesn't realy proove an argument ! Cheers.
