You can be on the left and not support Labour. You can be on the right and not be a Tory. They have both strayed far from and abandoned their original purpose and remit. Cheers.

“Compassionate Conservative”…….. Cheers.

Anyone remember the Remploy Factories, whatever happened to them ? There was a one next door to a place I worked. They would employ mentally and physically handicapped people, on a very basic wage, doing low level assembly jobs. I thought they were a good idea, it got them involved, a sense of purpose and a bit more money than benefits. I think those jobs have now been outsourced to the private sector. My local Asda has a young lad and lass, who are quite obviously “not all there”, they don’t seem to do much but stand around, never on the tills or even stacking shelves, but they are

Like the rest of the world, only some parts of America are shit, and it's all subjective. I didn't like New York, too claustrophobic for me, but the missus loves it. Texas is one of the best places I've ever been. We've got our fair share of shit places in the U.K. And some fantastic places. Cheers.

At one time I'd jump on a plane and go anywhere to do a bit of hunting or see dogs work. Still got a few things planned. I was jealous when I saw the fun my missus had North of the Arctic circle, sled dogs, reindeer, ice fishing, etc. Thought "I've got to have some of that " ! Cheers.

A few years ago I took up an invite to judge the whippet show at Birr Castle game fair in county Offaly , Ireland. I drove from Newcastle to Anglesey and took the Ferry to Dublin then drove across Ireland to Tullymore. I had Foxgun Tom in with me for company. The organisers paid our ferry fare and three nights in cottages on the banks of the Grand Canal. I managed to fit in a bit of fishing and a mornings coursing, but it was a long old drive, 800 miles not including the ferry. It would be far easier, quicker and cheaper to just fly this time ! Cheers.

I’ve got a standing invite to judge the biggest running dog show , Carrisbrook , in Australia, I’d love to do it some day. At the moment I’m planning to take up an invite to Northern Ireland to do a bit hunting with a lad who sent the greyhound dam to my bitch over and who my pal has sent a deer/grey and teckel over there. My mate wants to drive and take the ferry so we can take the dogs, but I can fly from Newcastle to Belfast, return for £100. Better make my mind up soon, I’m not getting any younger ! Cheers.

I just asked on the Ozzydoggers site if anyone would like to take an old Pom out hunting and I was inundated with offers! I went down there for three months and had the time of my life ! Same with New Zealand, only went there for a month and had a go at pig hunting. Had an invite to run hares in Southern Ireland, only ran two , caught none but great fun Was invited to meet Sheik Hasan Ghunaim in Dubai, went over for a month and saw his kennels in Abu Dhabi and his falcon mews in Dubai. Been invited up Scotland a few times including four days on permissi

I met him through Andy and he invited me for a days running hares around Brampton, but sadly I never managed to take the invite up. Cheers.c

Of course, putting a top class non-ped over a coursing bred bitch might just mean the progeny wouldn't need to take 10-12 minutes to catch a hare............PMSL ! Cheers.

I’ve ate American chocolate in the states and the Middle East and I’m sure it doesn’t contain animal fats. It’s bland and goes white very quickly. I remember a Kit Kat copy called Pick One that was so vile my kids refused to eat it. In Thailand American chocolate wasn’t expensive, but again, was shit. A bar of European chocolate, especially Cadbury’s was more expensive than a bottle of Thai whiskey! Mind you my missus and kids did like Hersheys. Ive just heard Caramac is being discontinued, shame as my daughter in law always takes a box back to Saudi for her mother ! C

Farage v Lynch ? Ask anyone if they have heard of Farage and probably more than 90% will answer “yes”. Ask them if they have heard of Lynch and 90% will probably say “ wasn’t she the barmaid in Corrie ? “. I doubt if 10% of Labour voters have heard of Lynch, and probably none of their Muslim core vote. Cheers.

Reading that makes me think your the type that would have a go at anything to "make a bob or two" ! Yes , you can make your own luck, maybe I did, maybe I got lucky or was in the right place at the right time, but "work ethic" goes a long way ! Cheers.

Just a little first hand true story; My younger brother has recently retired after 45 years working for the local council. He was Health & Safety Manager and Union Convenor. He has a visceral hatred of Thatcher, the Tory’s, indeed anyone even slightly to the right of Corbyn ! Yet when Thatcher allowed the sale of council houses, he leapt at the chance and bought his at a massive discount. When he has one of his periodic far left diatribes, I gently remind him of this. His reasoning, and he genuinely believes it, is that he can leave the house to his two kids to give

Err…..Just two examples; Just have “Sorbonne”on your resume in France; Or “Ivy League “ on your resume in America, and see how your life’s chances increase. Every country in the world has their “elites” , “educated class” , “ruling class”. The British class system is entrenched but by no means unique, have a look at the Indian caste system. Cheers.

It would be interesting to see the breeding of his whippet stud. I’ve not seen any mention of it’s racing or working career. Thats not to say it hasn’t done either. Cheers.

Of course it’s unfair ! That’s the reason I want my family to be privately educated , it gives them a head start in an unfair competitive world ! My son wouldn’t have had the career he did without being privately educated at the American International School of the Middle East and being a boarder at Ashby Grammar. My daughter wouldn’t have had the career she had if she didnt also attend the A.I.S.M.E. and the Cambridge Annex of the Middle East . I was extremely lucky that the company I worked for payed the fees, or else they would have gone to a comprehensive, I’ll be eternally

What is ? Cheers.

We are obviously on the opposite sides of the spectrum here , but my grandsons school has a maximum of 12 children per class, my great nephews local comprehensive has over 30 per class. Both my children were taught to international baccalaureate standards which I think gave them better chances in life than A levels or GCSE’s or whatever they give now, and they were certainly not intimidated by the “real world” , in fact they saw far more of the real world than if they had gone to a comprehensive on a sink estate ! And they had far less chance of being stabbed for their trainers! Private s

Average of four polls today have Reform on just over 10% and Conservatives on 19%. Image if the legacy media started reporting Reform as Reform instead of “other” and Farage comes out of the jungle and starts campaigning for Reform ? The Tory’s would be obliterated , Labour would have over 400 seats and a huge majority! Cheers.

Private education doesn’t have to be at boarding school. Both my children were privately educated, I was lucky the company paid for it. My daughter never boarded and my son only boarded for the final three years. My grandson is privately educated but lives at home. Of course people can do well after comprehensive education, I did, but I think private education gives a better start in life in general. Cheers.

If I won big on the lottery I would put my four great nephews through private school. My grandson is already being privately educated , it’s expensive, but his Saudi family pay the best part of that, all I do is basically buy his sports kit and put a bit into a small trust fund each month. Yes, I know people will say they went to the local comprehensive and they did ok, well, so did I, but I’d say the vast majority of my education and qualifications came after I left school. Comprehensive gave me the basics, but now with the left wing education system putting more emphasis on “inclus

The two bosses I mentioned were in the UK , the first one insisted I did one day release and one night class in mechanical engineering and one day release and one night class in electrical engineering when I was an apprentice. The second boss was when I’d served my time and he must have seen something as he sent me on all sorts of courses, one of which was to Smiths Industries at the beginning of the tachograph era to learn how to fit and calibrate them and also put me through the HGV class 1 and PSV test so I could “prove” the installation. After that he moved me to the R&D dep

I wouldn’t want to change my career path; it went on an upward trajectory from leaving school and becoming a diesel mechanic to retiring 20 years ago as an Airline Engineering Manager. There were a lot of factors involved in this including luck, being in the right place at the right time, willing to work hard and take risks, willing to go out my comfort zone and learn new skills and not least having two bosses who saw something in me and pushed me hard and gave me opportunities to move up. Cheers.

Not one of mine , but a mate I was with had his dogs back open up like a sleeping bag zip running a hare through a barded wire fence. Just part of the game back then . Cheers.
