  1. The pedigree whippet racing association has a 32lb limit. There’s two non ped associations and the BWRA has a 32lb limit for its yards for pounds racing and Championships and a 55lb limit for Scratch racing. The NWRF had a 35 lb limit for its yards for pound racing and I think no limit for scratch racing. A non ped will beat a pedigree over any distance, there is no comparison, the non ped will win by a distance. Theres only ever been one pedigree whippet that won Championships in both disciplines, that was way back in the 60’s. Cheers.
  2. They are doing times now that I wouldn’t have believed when I had them. And don’t forget, there are 12 lb 16” whippets racing and 32 lb 23” whippets racing. I think the breed standard for pedigree whippets allows dogs to be 22”. As I said, height doesn’t matter in non-peds , it’s all based on weight classes. This little dog is 1/4 greyhound 3/4 whippet and races at 12 lb ! The weight classes start at 16lb so has to run off level with dogs 4lb heavier but he still beats them ! Cheers.
  3. No idea mate. The object with non- peds is to get a dog with the speed of the greyhound and the size of the whippet, and that’s been achieved over the sprint distances. Indian Joe won titles over the straights and bend under BWRA and NWRF rules so he must have been within the the weight limits, height doesn’t matter, but as a guess he’d be no more than 22/23 inches . Just checked and he won his titles at 30lb, so he may have been a bit smaller than 22/23 inch. Cheers.
  4. Late 80’s. Carlisle area. Cheers.
  5. Yeah, he’s hard work, but I’m a trier, I can’t admit defeat. The day he says “I don’t know” or admits he may be wrong will be the day I think I’ve finally made a breakthrough and I can give myself a metaphorical pat on the back ! Cheers.
  6. I’ve taught him well…… ! LOL ! Cheers.
  7. I give up , I’m a retired aircraft engineer not an astrophysicist or NASA scientist. You believe what you want mate , I’ll believe what I want, as I told mC long ago, I worked, socialised and lived with people who had worked on the moon shot program, I believe they weren’t lying to me and 400,000 people worked directly on the program and millions more on the supply side, if it were all a hoax, surely it would have got out by now ? Cheers.
  8. There’s a training aid for would be astronauts called “ the vomit comet” it’s a specially equipped 747 which goes up to a certain altitude then dives at a speed which induces weightlessness, just like when an aircraft drops suddenly during turbulence. The ISS is in effect dropping continuously around the curvature of the earth giving the same effect. Cheers.
  9. Joseph Heller wrote, in my mind, one of the greatest novels; Catch 22. He also wrote a book called Good as Gold, about two brothers, one a successful, intelligent business man, the other an argumentative man who disbelieved everything. The argument about ice cubes drove the intelligent brother to the brink of despair, he knew he was right but his brother kept on disputing the facts. It’s a classic tale of the futility of arguing with someone who quite simply wants to argue ! A bit like this thread ! LOL ! Cheers.
  10. Probably. It needs the speed and altitude to counter the effects of gravity. Cheers.
  11. The plane is flying in an atmosphere , the spacecraft is flying in a virtual vacuum. Francie, do a bit of research on “orbits”. A smaller body, like the ISS is orbiting a larger body , the earth, just as the earth is orbiting a larger body, the sun. The larger bodies gravity is always trying to pull the smaller body down, but the speed of the smaller body resists this and in effect it’s always falling around the curative of the bigger body, hence why the ISS doesn’t fall to earth and the earth doesn’t fall into the sun . The astronaut on a space walk is travelling at the same speed as
  12. No they didn’t, they had the actors on extremely thin platforms and edited them out. Not a wire in sight. Maybe NASA should have hired the Big Bang Theory special effect team ! PMSL ! Cheers.
  13. I represented myself and my brother when we went to court for trespass in pursuit of game or coneys and GBH. We were found not guilty ! LOL ! Cheers.
  14. The Big Bang Theory managed to have Howard floating about in a make believe ISS without wires ! But the American, Russian, European , Japanese governments are using wires to try and fool people ? Give me a break …… Cheers.
  15. “Flat Earthers” are entitled to their view, mate ! PMSL ! Cheers.
  16. We can all play the Google game ! LOL ! Cheers.
  17. What would you call the ISS ? I’d of thought the clue was in the name ; International SPACE Station, please don’t get all pedantic and ask where “space “ starts. LOL ! Cheers.
  18. They aren’t the only ones onboard the ISS, there’s also a crew of at least seven people. Unmanned spacecraft make regular supply runs . Cheers.
  19. No one is going to match his £300,000 a week wages so Man U are stuck with him . Cheers.
  20. Why wouldn’t America and the rest of the democratic western world support Israel, the only democratic country in the Middle East ? Im an “Arabist” which I hasten to add is NOT an Islamist ! I support a free and democratic Isreal and want a free and democratic Palestine also, but I haven’t a clue how to achieve that, but the left wing hatred of Jews, Isreal and of course Zionism, isn't helping in finding a solution. Cheers.
  21. Doesn’t matter mate, we were lucky to get away with a draw ! How do we play like shite in the first half then raise our game in th second half ? The subs we brought on changed the game . Cheers.
  22. It’s as vital as any other base in the world for the Americans, but I may be wrong but I read your post as being that the Americans base in Isreal was their major base in the Middle East when it is not . World politics is fluid, and I’ve been out of the loop for a long time so what I say in here is just my opinion , Cheers.
  23. You’d be surprised how many bases America has in the Middle East, both official and unofficial. I worked for many years on the KAAIA airport and Prince Sultan airbase in Jeddah , Saudi Arabia , I also worked on the Saudi Air Defence Centre outside of Riyadh for Lockheed Aircraft, seconded to the Royal Saudi Airforce. The Americans had AWACS and C130 aircraft based there. I worked on the C130 program. They also have bases in Bahrain, Qatar, Oman , Kuwait, Jordan and a huge presence in Iraq. Incirluk in Turkey is one of their biggest bases. Cheers.
  24. Fixed that for you mate ! Cheers.
  25. “ Jeez you’ve got a big pussy…jeez you’ve got a big pussy”. “” Why did you say it twice ? “ “ I didn’t ! “. Thanks to “Predator” . Cheers.
