Crazy what proper diet and exercise does for a dog..
3dumb replied to 3dumb's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Jesus, I got me a real case study of a dog in bad nik here haven't I? I've got a load of nexguard spectra so I'll try it again. I use that monthly on my bitch and just done the same for him straight away. Seems to be a couple +1's for the benzyl benzoate as well so I'll grab some and keep it handy. Thanks bud, apprecaite ya. Ill do a Google and grab some. Tbh, im about at me wits end so if you've had experience of it working, Id happily try it. Twice bud, morning and night feed. Foods weighed and everything lol. Im anal as feck with their food. Mind me asking as to -

That girl.. she? Wats this?.. Feck off, thats me missus ya arse, haha. Time to pull that Liberal card " dID yOu JUst AssUMe mY GenDeR?" ? Appreciate all the advice on helping get the lad in a better condition folk. I'll try find some green tripe and throw a bit of brown bread in. Find grains generally go right through both of mine, but I'm open minded. Ignoring muscle size and condition, has anyone got any tips for helping the BTS and hair loss on the tail? Tia -

Top pic is when he first came home. The bald patch on his tail has been there from the off, regardless of what I've tried it persists. His bald arse is much better than it was, one thigh is almost grown back entirely and the other is getting there slowly. Not sure what scabs you see, but he's gone from blistered carpal pads and foot pads that were worn through 3 layers to healthy skin. Almost rid him of the dry skin as well. Kid just won't eat fish and cod liver oil goes right through him. Its been a grind. Couple that with the lad having severe gastroenteritis when he cam -

Nearly 2 months of proper feeding and exercise and the big lad's finally looking like a proper dog... the poor feck was on the way to wasting away when I got him. -
Haha, reads a bit like that dont it.. Nah, she's just mad handy with a suture kit and I've got a stupid phobia of hospitals lol. Only them and my old man that puts the fear of God in me, haha.

+1 for honey on it after cleaning. The ph level promotes healing, and cos of the sugar, bacteria cannae grow. Draws fluids out the wound as well. My ex had to stitch and glue me up a few times and she'd always put honey on the gauze that covered it.. ive sworn by it since. Hope he heals well. Atb.

I posted last week asking about less obvious alternatives for a traditional lamp and after having given it a night out, I thought to share what I ended up buying. Crazy impressed with this thing, the power is nuts and I dont feel quite so obvious having a cheeky shine in places I usually wouldn't bother. Especially helpful when I'm staying in the suburbs at the missus'. Second photo is with me sat full length of a football field away. Doesnt do the throw justice but gives ya a decent idea. Fun few hours.

Thats the stuff.. puppy crack as my missis called it, lol
-
Just over 10 week. Reading the thread its likely the same stuff in the plug-in that Black Neck mentions.

Dunno if I like that tbh, when do the poor fuckers get to run?.. recall must be shite, it aint coming back if ya slip it, hahaha.

Probably not the best, but I used a pheromone spray for my bitch's first couple nights.. worked like a treat. Will occasionally use it still if we've got a stupid long car journey and it knocks her right out.

@Gypsydog94 cheers bud, ill have a look at some reviews
-
Had a search on here but couldn't really find anything, so; Wondering if anyone has used and can recommend a decent, high powered torch as an alternative to the traditional lamp. Could do with something a lil less suspect for our night time wandering is all. Tia

Gonna try steal a few of these ideas and see if its not too late for me.. I tried for months to stock break the pup but we got nowhere.. feel like I've failed her a bit in certain areas and this is definitely one. My fault for starting it too late I reckon. Now shes almost 1, she won't pull towards them anymore, but she still looks at sheep like a large wooly breakfast. She respects cows and horses mind, probably because of the size.
-
Same as above.. at that age I walked my pup until she had enough then worst case would just carry her home if I'd wandered too far. The whole 5 mins every month thing is bollocks if ya ask me, every pup is different right?
-
Just got back from walking the doggos and have been throughly entertained catching up on you lots bickering. I wonder what i can ask tomorrow that'll open a new can of worms haha. Sorry fellas! On a real level, do many off here actually meet and run dogs or is it just thrown about all braggadocious like? Not that I'm tryna stir the pot.. just genuinely interested. I know f**k all folk into lurchers cept my old man, and seems a shame it appears to be a lot of arguing over best dog, when all anyone really wants is to see their dog run.
-
Im stealing that idea! Prevention beats the cure! Sorry to hear it didn't work for ya.. ironically i was recommended the camrosa by a neighbour who used it initially on hair loss on one of his whippets. Suppose every dog is different after all.
-
Im probably a bit late to the party on this stuff, but thought to slang up a post incase anyone else is too. The new boy came with a couple cracked pads and 2 days of this stuff and they're right as rain already. Wholely recommended keeping a tub for them guaranteed cuts and scrapes.

Funny how shit gets lost in translation lol. Words really aint my thing mind! I'll do the tltr version; As much as I dont want to mate her until she's a proven worker and at least 3, now that shes had her first season at least there's technically only 1 more to worry about causing her detriment if she were to get caught accidentally. I think that about answers all the questions lol. Like @shaaarksays, I know I've still a lot to learn, im first to admit that, but I can promise ya common sense prevails lol.
