Yeah mate I get that but unless you're in the click those other great dogs will never be known.
What would you say are some of the best dogs going by what you've seen and know?
It's not always like that though fella, sometimes you drop on things when out for a mooch with a lurcher and a busher.
I wouldn't take a pup a 6 month old for a proper nights lamping, but day time mooches and a bit of ferreting, definitely.
Many dogs are catching rabbits at that age mate.
It's always best to stack the odds in the dogs favour at the end of the day at that age.
If the rabbits are that wise try and expand your permission, if you have ferrets though it's a no brainer.
I'm the ultimate male ladies.
When I say jump she says how high.
You really think I need permission off mummy like you two omegas.
Max used to bully you, says it all right there. ?
As it in may have poisoned the hares or something?
His other argument is that folk with the best dogs in the country wouldn't entertain the cup.
Like I've said I don't know the in's and out's of it all, I'm sure politics got involved with these sort of events and you can't keep everyone happy.
Was the cup run at the same spot throughout it's history, if not that's a strange one isn't it as you'd think hares that get hammered would be of better quality.
Maybe there was something going around at that point in time or did any lads introduce hares ready for the season?
I know lads have done the same with rabbits and deer in certain places.
I was reading an older thread and one bloke was having a pop at the Forley Cup and some of the dogs that won it, he was claiming that the hares there were poor where they held it and the competition was full of slips in the plough.
Did he have a point or was he talking wet?
I've read the transcript from the emergency service call he made.
"I need an ambulance immediately as I've just shot someone in the chest and he is not responding."
"Calm down sir, are you sure he is dead?"
Bang! "He is now."
I never ran any of this famous hare land tbh, it was just out on a local mooch or on permission we had further afield.
You can find good and bad hares in the same area and fields mate.
Hell I bet there's lots of different permutations that make the differences of a good or bad hare.
Like for instance the time of the day you have the run, I mean will a hare that's just had a stomachs full run as good as a hare on an empty stomach, I doubt it.
I do agree though that like any animal, if an area is hit hard and only the best survive then that area will produce better hares.
I've seen many dogs that are bitza's mate that have supposedly had saluki in the mix but I've never seen proper coursing bred dogs or real saluki types in action.
Like I said, my 3/4 collie cross was one of the better dogs I've seen on hares so it will be interesting to see how much better the real deal is.
Mc said it was a real eye opener when he saw a proper out and out hare dog.
You don't like it back at you do you flower.
Now go back to the start of your drunken haze and it might come back to you. ?
Again, keep your smart arse comments to yourself on other threads there's a good boy. ?
