  1. He did a couple of months back but it was a bitch mate, would be after a dog fella, don't want the Akita stuck up it. ?
  2. You feed this kibble to both your puppies and adults?
  3. No, never had a coursing bred dog. I've seen lurchers that have had saluki in the mix but not specialist hare dogs. Like I've said before, my 3/4 collie cross could regularly catch hares, the most he caught locally was 3 on a mooch out. It's a given that they provably weren't the best of hares and at a guess I'd say it was around October time but catching 3 ain't easy. Now I know these out and out coursing dogs will be different gravy but that's a question that always pops up. I know the heavy saluki types have bags of stamina but does a 3-4 minute course take mor
  4. A coursing bred pup hopefully mate, arranged to go and see the litter next week. They are only 5 week old atm.
  5. I know that mate but just wondering how much runs these bottomless dogs are good for?

    RIP Frank

A legend of the sport and a proper nice bloke, the type of character that made Britain Great.
  7. That's what I would be worried about, getting it wrong and ending up worse off than just giving the pup kibble. I suppose mixing kibble and raw will be fine, but then I've read that can upset their digestive system.
  8. Question for the lads, how many runs can you expect in a day off dogs with the most stamina, be that heavy saluki saturated dogs and pures.
  9. Doesn't boiling it defeat the purpose though mate? I suppose the kibble has back up ensures they are getting all the nourishment.
  10. When you say you give them lamb ribs and other treats is this on a daily basis and part of their main diet or is it just a once a week thing?
  11. You use kibble now don't you? Much easier that way, just read the label and jobs a good un. ?
  12. I'll just give it tins of mackerel mate instead of raw salmon heads? You weigh the food or just play it by ear.
  13. Not yet mate, meant to be going to look at a pup at the weekend. ?
  14. Decent setup mate tbh. If I were to go down the raw route I want the pup to get the most benefit out of it. Does it matter what raw food they have, etc, etc. Is offal essential or will meet and bones do?
  15. Thought that's what that Hollings stuff is?
  16. I've seen lads on here swear by putting pups on a BARF diet and I've also seen lads claim that you get just as good as results mixing kibble and raw. Is it more difficult to give them a balanced diet going only raw if you don't know what you're doing, is the added kibble just back up incase they aren't getting all the vitamins and minerals? There's a place local to me that does the raw feeds, out of the list what would you say is best for the dog and essential.
  17. When feeding raw to a pup are the ratios different to adult dogs, i.e. more protein? I've seen that many lads mix kibble with raw but I've read that it can upset their digestive system?
  18. I've noticed out on my walks the lack of hares around these parts, lurcher or no lurcher years ago you would be sure to drop on one. Last one I can recall seeing local was a couple during lockdown in 2020.
  19. Brilliant fight and an amazing performance by Kambosos. Wow, what a statement putting Lopez down in the first round after Lopez said he would knock him out in the very same round. It had a feeling of Chavez vs Meldrick Taylor, even though Kambosos was winning the middle rounds it felt like it was taking everything out of him and Lopez was breaking him apart. It looked like it was over in the tenth round after Lopez dropped him and badly hurt him, the difference is Kambosos didn't read the script. He came back and rallied in the last two rounds and ended up the boss in t
  20. I know what you're saying about styles and that mate but some dogs are just faster than others, be that at accelerating or on top end. Now I don't know how fast Lucas was as I never saw him in flesh but he was rated by the lads in the scene so he must have had something about him. You're right though, a real bottomless dog would have likely been closer to the hare at the 3 minute mark when he lost it in cover. The hare outrun the dog fair and square there.
  21. What mate? Lucas got fully in to his stride but couldn't really do anything with that hare. Are you saying he shot his load after a minute or two, if not then how could a steadier dog get any closer in 1 or 2 mins? If we are talking 3 minutes plus I can understand that a dog with more in the tank would appear just as fast but Lucas looked in trouble from the start don't you think.
