  2. Just enjoy working her and if over time she proves to be 100% and you wish to carry on with the line then take your time and choose the most suitable stud.....
  3. I'm happy if I get 50 % success, although i'd not be pleased if I was winging them. I usually try and practise by having a few sessions on the clays.
  4. Seems that the North east has been the "hotbed" of working Sealyhams, read some great articles by Maurice Richardson Thurso do those terriers belong to a keeper near Mey?

    sickening

I don't think the fact they were Polish made any difference, we breed enough thugs and abusers in this country. As Ricky said the dog shouldn't have been put in that position and the two guys involved should be punished.....
  7. If I fed my dogs and ferrets chickens at £2.50 i'd be bankrupt. I get chicken carcases at 34p..............
  8. That % would have your dogs bouncing off the walls The dog would have to be covering the kind of mileage a sheepdog or husky would to burn off that %. Been there and wouldn't do it again, forget dry and change to raw
  9. The sentence is absurd compared to what many courts are dishing out for mugging, burglary etc etc..........
  10. I've only got number 3, as Phil says some great footage of rabbiting and ratting with Speckle, the squirel plucked from the tree is superb...

    Guard Dogs!

Personally i'd get CCTV, its far cheaper than keeping a dog. I think its unfair to keep a dog for the sole purpose of kenneling it to keep people away. If its a deterant then cameras would be better, a dog can't protect your property if its locked behind 2" welded mesh or attached to a chain? The best protection dogs are part of the family. If its just a dog to notify you of unwelcome guests then don't your existing dogs bark at strangers? IMO the best dogs after training numerous breeds for protection work are European GSD'd, not the British show/pet rubbish....
  12. I found these about 2 miles from the Trent in a forest winter 05/06. Think they are otter?
  13. Superb photos Jack, have you relocated over ther now?

  16. Well I think your lovely Tomo  Take no notice of the name calling, man boobs are this summers accesory, i've spent ages growing mine Now this question is coming from someone whos never owned a dog for hares but i've watched some good courses in my county of Lincolnshire. Why are fenland hares consireded by many to be superior to hares in other parts of the country? Is it the terrain that has produced better athletes as in many cases there is nowhere to hide, you must outrun your pursuer? Is it the crops grown here that differ from other parts of the country that produce nutr
  17. Paul, Getting her screaming with excitement for a toy will help, just do a couple of highly motivated retreives and then put her away, don't worry about clinical retrieves to hand, just get her wildly excited about the "game". Having the dog on a lead and throwing a toy for a older dog will make her jealous and increase her drive If she still shows nodesire to play you could always make it a compulsive retrieve? I have a shepherd here who used to eat the rabbits he caught, just stopped it one day My terrier is the same, the first few rats on a trip may be eaten before they settle do
