  1. All that polava over poaching Heres a tale from a few years ago.....me and my wife and three friends were out polishing ours dogs tracking for competition in the dark (this improves your line handling and trusting the dog), anyway we were on a public footpath about 2200 at night and had been tracking for an hour when we were aware of the police helicopter above us, we carried on but noticed two dog vans, a panda car and police transit (half full) shadowing us from the road. We got to the gate and were stopped and asked what we were doing as a member of the shoot had reported us for hare
  2. Nice motor Aaron, you must have made a mint at the Midland, you were selling collars as we chatted. Good profits minus the fees for the stall

Over thelast few years I have become more and more interested in learning about deer. I bought this book after it was recommended by Mr Darcy. I wasn't disapointed, despite being published quite a while ago the book is beautifully written and gives an insight into the lifestyle and habitat of this elusive invader.
  4. I have kept various poultry, geese, ducks, quail and chickens but will shortly be moving and want to get a trio of bantams for the garden. I have kept hybrids and ex-batteries but want to keep some bantams for a few eggs and I know that Austrlorps and Plymouths are two of the more docile and easy to handle species for the kids. Has anyone kept either of these breeds before?
  5. Is it a Burmese? How big is it? A guy at work brought in a reticulated python a couple of years ago, it was only a small one, about 13 feet but had a "bad attitude". Felt the strengh of 5ft snakes so wouldn't want to upset a big one
  6. Only just read this, a terrible accident
  7. I have used my terriers for bushing but its not a favourite pastime as I always worry about them disapearing. Personally i'd go with a spaniel, you don't have the added "problem" of them disapearing into an unknown earth and I believe they would be easier in general to call of a rabbit for the lurchers, not so easy with terriers.
  8. Nice pics Rich, Have you come across many snakes around your property?
  9. Sounds like a good bunch of genuine lads to help each other out
  10. 15,000 acres eh, if only I had that permission I'd poop coming across venomous snakes when hunting although the venom of the Inland Taipan, coastal taipan and brown snake are more potent than the Tiger snake so what are you worrying about. Welcome aboard

  12. Very nice looking dog Lucky, glad hes doing the buisness on the bunnies for you Why don't I have mates that want to give me decent dogs............oh yeah I don't have any mates
  13. Looking at Luckys post the cars were stopped and nothing was found so perhaps they were merely adrenalin off roaders who only go out in the dark............. Edited to add was Badger coursing ever a popular activity between lurcher owners

Jardine ko Ruas Submission Fitch Decision Theres mine
  15. Fortunately there are still small groups of friends and individuals who dedicate their time and skills to keeping working lines going. My hats off to them for their dedication and backbone for keeping the working terrier alive and not selling out for the ££££££££ P.S. The terriers on the rear of EDRD looked very tidy.

Hi Jay, I think your right about Sanchez/Fitch possibly being the fight of the night. Fitch is on a roll and Sanchez can be....shall we say overconfident I'd like to see Liddell/Silva match up

Both Liddell and Jardine prefer to stand which i'm sure is the reason this match was booked. I know Chuck hits hard and throws from awkward angles but I think with Jardines leg kicks and appetite to mix it close I think he could pull off the upset. I agree Gnasher that odds are against it going to round two either way.....
  19. I assume its rear legs as they have more meat?

As before....and before....mma fans what are your predictions for tomorrows fights? Liddell vs Jardine, I predict an upset and think Jardine will ko Liddell Griffin vs Rua, I like Forrest Griffin and think he is a good brawler who has a better ground game than many think but this will be a very tough test for him. He asked for this fight and its a close call but i'll go for a Rua win even though i'd like to see Griffin win. Sanchez vs Fitch, Sanchez is not a fighter I like and this could be a very tough fight but i'll go for a Fitch victory. Kye, Gnasher and other mma fans wh

Highlight of the day was seeing Sean Frain in the Coch Y Bodhu book stall Nice to see Aaron (strong stuff) on his pitch his collars were going down well and he sold several whilst we chatted
