Its an old song now china has the biggest navy. The vikings liked the craftmanship of Anglia so they brought them home as trälar(slaves) and traded with slavians(slaves) to british areas.

"the barrel would been bulged or other parts damaged." Not if its an out of battery fire.

Selling a gun ?...read this first

Criminals do not use hunting weapons (exept poachers) a illegal bought pistol would be a better choise and they risk a conviction for robbery without any substancial value in the rifle/shotgun. -
"A 23 year old in Bolton has been fined £1000 for breaking quarantine rules. Thick sod should have been put in open air dog run for a month." A family of five meeting two the kids grandparents, the police can split them up and fine them £1000s. Are UK citizens are finding this kind of rules normal?
-
"I heard they passing or passed a law saying now more than 6 in a crowd, or fines of 100 them doubling every time after, can somebody a bit more savvy tell me if these laws are temporary( as in only allowed to be used during a pandemic) or could we become coved free in a few months but still be getting bent over with this law?" The government needs them to control the after brexit riots then you have discovered you are going to really be bent over.

Yes but less infections per 100000 people.

autokratic rules not to meet more than six persons. UK have still carantine rules for visitors from Sweden even then Sweden has less corona virus infections than UK. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/sep/09/matt-hancock-hopes-six-person-covid-rule-can-be-lifted-before-christmas

Yes I like to be in the mountains its a big part of it I do hiking in the summer and skiing in winter too. Yes I do beaver hunting with canoe but its in smaller areas more suitable to stay in one place and have a tent as a basecamp. I am going to plan a beaver trip for you in the spring if you are interested. The large areas in the mountains and close are public land so you buy a hunting permit for a day or week for grouse. Large areas owned by forest companys can have a permit for smallgame as caper and blackgrouse.

"and there is only one country that looses any significant amount of sheep" If they locally take 50 sheeps its significant for the owners. "Would they have a big impact on roe, rabbit and fox numbers?" Yes big impact on roe not so much on fox, 100% on rabbit we dont have any here in northern Sweden never had. "In areas where we have a lynx family, roe completely disappears in 2-3 years. They are moving away from danger or they are eaten. I'm saying this from experience, I'm not quoting here from National Geographic or from some TV documentary." Yes this has been our o

The Lynx we have here eat mostly Roe and Reindeer a reindeer can weight up to 90kg (or similar to a fallow deer). Yes they take a lot of sheeps. I has happened they have attacked dogs(and one pony) but its not very common. Then hunted with dogs they run until it climbs up in a tree or on a rock, its safe for the dog wildboar hunting has much more injuries on dogs. Max weight 30+kg normaly 12-15kg, they can be hunted here with 222r and bigger and also shotgun. Robert Salomonsson video, he had one dangerous encounter only because he is allergic to cats.

Maybee big for squirrel and rabbit but perfect for fox and roe. 357 are cheap to reload and ammo are less expensive than 22wmr here.

I just sent in a firearm permit application for a 1867 remington rifle in 12,7*44r(similar to 50-70).? Manufactoring year 1870. Its a hunting model or a rebuildt on a military action. I hope to get it on a hunting permit but if the policewomen dont like it i have to get a competition permit only. I can shoot scandinavian blackpowder competition with it and if i get a hunting permit i can also shoot small game up to including beaver and roedeer. The price are 500sek or ~46£. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remington_M1867

I made a walk along a small beck/stream, first i saw several dams (7-8) until i came to a bigger (20m) dam upstream with two huds 10m apart one small and one small. Some fresh tracks and logging. 1km downstream there is a big old dam 50m long with a hole blasted in it about 1ha dam area and a big abandon hud. Two huds on the picture one small behind the birch log and a big behind the small tree in the middle.

"Many scoff using powder measures but in fact using a consistent method very accurate charges can be thrown." Some benchrest shooters use volym messures for powder instead of weight. Then I tested my blackpowder messure against my scale I had only only +-0,1grain (weight) difference between the charges.
-
Cut a .223 case at the line there your powder of choice line up and mark it with the load. Dip it and even it out with a card. Or use a blackpowder messure. https://www.traditionsfirearms.com/product/revolver-powder-measure-a1307 http://sixgun.se/

New Commercial Calibre - .277 Sig Fury
KimE replied to Alsone's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Both True Velocity and Textron offer polymer cartridges for NGSW. Textron have telescopic ammo and the shells eject forward. "Can’t see that taking off in the sporting sector. Ammo weight just isn’t a factor." No but price plastic+steel may be cheaper in volumes. -

44-40 Was created for Winchester 1873 it was made to have better performance than .44rimfire wich had limited success in military use (Henry, Spencer, Win 1866 rifles) Winchester didn`t get any big military contracts for it so it was mostly sold to civilians. The US civil war was over and the US army had a lot of .50Gov and .45Gov Trapdoor Springfields. Rifle and ammunition developement had a crazy speed att the end of the century. .44 rimfire 1860 .50 gov 1866 centerfire 10,15*61r Jarmann 1881 8mm lebel 1886 the first smokeless 8*57I 1888 7*57 mauser 1892 -
