  4. Thanks mate, I only really train my own dogs these days TBH. But do still have all the equipment so might put a couple of fun days on over the summer, just to promote fitter dogs.

Thanks for the nice comments on my pups, also thank for those who dont like em for keeping quiet (means alot ) These pups were breed by me and the wife, weve had our own line for 18 years now, we still have the pups Nan and even great Nan here with us in fact the great nan is still like a pup herself at 11. Theres some very nice dogs on this thread and its good to know there still out there. Keep em alive lads D
  9. Thought i would chuck this in the air, what you guys doing regarding swarm control?? Do any of you clip the Queens?? Anyone using swarm traps?? Im plannind on artifitialy swarming a few new hives this year but i do need to pay attention to swarms as i am next to a park. D

  11. Asparagus IMO is best suited to a raised bed, they like free draining soil. Can you not knock up a raised bed and maybe put a peice of glass over to keep the soil warm or fleece etc? Asparagus takes 3 years before it produces edible shoots, although you do get a wee taster on the second year as you can take half the shoots i think. Add a little fine sand to the soil. D

  16. The woodpeckers are a nightmare in some places arnt they, i think i will unite weaker hives together next season myself (lesson learnt from last) I will be a happier person when its warm enough to check my royal ladies are alive and well.
  17. So far my garlic bed looks mint, strawbs have been tidied, all my fruit bushes canes and trees have been pruned and all fed ready to go, even my peah tree has started budding nicely. Ive started a Couple of fem Cucumbers, toms, chillies, peppers, Leeks look good. Im trying some Melons, oberjines, loads of different squashes. My spuds are chitting nicely, couple of weeks before they go in still, piccasso for earlies and winstons for main. All my 30 warrens are in full lay and my Bees are in flight, does it get beeter than that?? Its the first season i have been so prepared,

  19. Well i hope you manage to get them soon, one of my supers got water on it over the winter and it smells like a sweet cider yummm, which got me thinking i really must try and make some mead this year ATB D

  21. Thanks for bumping TB25, i forgot about this thread, so hows everyone getting on? I lost one hive out of 5 but expected to as it was very weak and didnt have time to feed before hand, lesson learnt. 4 hives look very good, exciting times ahead methinks. So far i have 4 Nationals 6 supers which im about to add another 6, i have to Nuc boxes ready and im hoping to buy a couple more hives. Whats ya plans lads n lasses? P.S Would admin allow us our own section on the forum for our beekin??
