  1. Oh you bought one as well. Very wise. All my wild geese are ground into meatloaf or burgers. It's just better control over the outcome.
  2. Cook it with the house brick method or grind it up and make a meat loaf.
  3. That's a cool idea too. Tying a dead birds to that dogs head and making it run about, what a decoy?
  4. Cracking mate. Them coal miner parakeets take some fooling?
  5. Is this just with hounds. 19000 acres will hold a lot of vermin! And deer....
  6. Hope your right. The map earlier didn't look good anywhere.
  7. Bad news ....a week of heavy rain lies ahead. Next friday looks awful.
  8. Easy peasy. I've forgotten what easy foxes come in like!
  9. He has dined on finest chicken for about a month now. Not frightened by security lighting but lamps yes! That's telling us something....probably dropped from town and since shot at via a lamp!
  10. I was stalking roe buck up in D&G once. I rested on a stone wall in the forest to watch to my right a roe buck walk behind a self set pine on a bank. I got ready and as soon as it reappeared all though obscured somewhat l let fly with my 30/30. What happened next all happened in a blur. The deer I shot dropped but unknown to me and from the same spot a second deer leapt and stopped thirty yards away or so. Thinking it was wounded by me I shot again but when I got there it was a doe?. I went back and immediately found the buck? ooops. It happens....
  11. Should of got out at 1:30am.....light weight! ?
  12. Bad shots do indeed happen. Live targets move too. The other leg displayed some cuts healing also.
  13. Slinky2 is no more. 3:40 a.m. he arrived and in a few seconds presented the shot. As always a complimentary second shot is always given by me when rimfires are used if possible. I went bed at 9 for some sleep. Got up and in position at 1:30 wrapped up and flask in hand. It was a still and a well illuminated night. The camera said 3:20 was the time of the last visit but he came 20 minute later. I was nearly about to give up when the little security light came on and there he was tugging at the bait. What I never realised was its war wound ! The photos I have of it show a back f
  14. Often why I have to learn individual fox's movements and catch them out on their runs or home patch in early mornings or evenings. It's only amateur but it sure beats TV.
  15. Not keen on the new arrangement! Or is it a second animal!
  16. 48hours after the local shoot day it's back. The bait went last night.
  17. One of the reasons I just cant abandon the good old lamp.
  18. Shot nine more today . It's been a good year for them.
  19. Your a bunch of grumps aren't you ?. I will have you know there is hardly any foxes on my grounds at the moment. Why? Because for the past three years I've nobbled many a vixen and the dogs but especially the vixens. There was a shoot locally yesterday and I have been convinced this fox lays up on there during the day. Now last night after the shoot it may of gone scavenging pricked birds for a change or it may of even been shot on there! Never in my dreams did I think I had entered a race!
  20. It chucked it down. Never saw it. There was a local shoot yesterday. It may of gone scavenging there instead.
  21. A pineapple has more life in it mate. Chucking it down. The rat is switching the light on at the moment.
