  1. There is a huge difference between shooting something straight up and nearer to ground level. You need to brush up on your physics matey. You only have to compare the huge rocket required to carry a payload straight up compared to a relatively smaller vehicle flying a payload horizontally. Gravity is constant, velocity isn't. The lighter the free flying object the faster it slows, also factor in the faster it goes the more force is acting on it in the opposite direction via the atomsphere. For example, try launching a paper airplane at 4000fps, how far would it go? No where, opp
  2. I called a fox in to only stop and turn to walk off as soon as I turned my NV on. There is an infra red security light near me and it looks like a bright light viewed through the pard. I wonder if a fox sees like a black, blacker than the night or maybe a faint shaded area. The educated ones defo see something.
  3. Your gonna have to get a SGC or if you want more than three shots get it on your FAC. Up there I would just use the rifle buddy. Then again, slugs might come in handy for you too!
  4. Benelli boingers are brilliant Si. Yep some guns like choke and some don't. My sxs likes some choke but my other guns have reach with very little. Just have to roll with it and adjust to what ever is required.
  5. Was going too but walkers pass close by in the day. It's a clever one. I photographed it weeks ago on the trail cam. In every shot it was looking at the ir light and it never returned. When I saw it Thursday night it was staring at the ir of the pard spotter. It's a smart one for certain. If the rain let's up about 11pm I may just try catching her out again, I say her, I'm convinced it's a vixen.
  6. I'll squeeze some soggy sheep muck over it for you next time!
  7. Well I sat over my bait for a smart fox. Never turned up. Took a peak today at mid day and the bait has gone ?

  9. A few things that lost the 17rem the spot light were wind, rain and barrel cleaning. Wind is a pain for any bullet. The 17 becomes a short range rifle on a windy day. If it's raining don't bother. A single drop of rain may as well be a brick. Cleaning. Most folk struggle at cleaning a center fires barrel properly once groups start to open. A friend's 17r would go from 1/4 moa to 1moa after about 25rds. His barrel needed soaking for 24hours in hoppes#9 to get back to 1/4moa. Most folk today think you only need to pull a bore snake thingie through if you've got nothing better to d
  10. I heard two screaming last night. I've just gone through cold number two this week, #2 2020! Had a bangin' head all day. Now sat in my car overlooking some bait ?
  11. It'll be workable alright.... Crows peck sheep's and calves eyes out rendering the animal useless. Sheep and cattle are an important food source for the overwhelming majority of the omnivore human population. Cereals and vegetables growers produce a valuable food source not only for the huge omnivore human population but also for the minority vegetarians and the even smaller group vegans. Those crops are not grown solely for wild bird feed! Our special friends need to check their own sanity! Vegans don't like anything via animals, so what do they wear? Man made fibre
  12. Fair enough. I admire your meritable principle mate. It is however a shame they are not encouraged to do the right thing when it comes to expressing negativity about this forum! Or others for that matter. ATB.
  13. Blooming Eck lad. You done well there. That lot would of been ruining the country there!
  14. Nowt wrong with a hornet mate. I got on one tonight with NV. It came into a baiting spot but I never took a shot! I just watched and errr watched it walk away! I don't know what came over me!
  15. Think I had a good spanking off them too! I forget....there has been so many.
  16. I was ejaculated off pigeon crotch. They don't like people speaking out! I'm completely banned too. I can't read anything via a Google search. Does that make me extra special ?
  17. Channel four news did an item on the decline of bugs in the countryside. Amazingly it was not blamed on shooting sports but I'm sure they tried their best! No it was blamed on modern farming of cereals and vegetables and fruit! Spraying pesticides etc ( of which I am not a fan of myself) so it appears the surge in vegertarian and veganism is putting overwhelming pressure on growers to produce more and more foods for the fuss pots and is thus having a negative impact of the food supply of all manner of wildlife! I must also say that I have never gone out to shoot bugs for fun.
  18. Live caught rats and squirrels need love too and a good home! What's wild justic address again......
  19. One way to get out of it Stav is to turn up wearing that nice camo under burka. That'll have them diving for shelter! https://youtu.be/2WxVHIdkFC4
  20. https://www.gov.uk/government/news/six-general-licences-reissued-for-the-control-of-wild-birds Looks like our vegan friends have spent thousands of tax payers money to end up where we were bless them. Funny they don't fuss over rats the same ?
  21. Take it easy Stav. The sub norms are the sad losers. Not you. Rifle wise your gonna have to check your zero.
