  2. Take it you like milbros then! i prefer the natural forks but both will do the job
  3. i would be more interested in hunting with dogs than shooting, i believe you have a much better range of quarry there than we do but what are the legalities? Thanks

    name and shame

Keeps himself to himself? No one is assuming that Turk is a "Chav" that wouldn't and shouldn't make any difference. What ever happened at court, at home with friends should remain there not on a live forum. People who have posted are trying to guide Turk and give him gentle advice. Its not hard to work out is it? No one is turning against Turk, im sure he's a nice person. Follow the rules and the POLICE will leave you alone. Its very easy! I can believe what im reading, certain people will never learn. Here we go again, the old "police can do no wron
  7. i got my first lurcher 2 years ago, shes a bitsa of questionable parentage who i bought with more enthusiasm than knowledge. She did ok on the lamp at the end of last season but has spent most of this season injured so the verdict is still out as to whether she will be anything special, good or bad i will keep her though! The second is a JRTxWhippet out of working parents. He has only really beened worked this season as the other one is out of commission. He has excelled himself, a good ferreting dog, took 6 out 7 slips on the lamp the other night and has had success with other things too.
  8. i have used vetwrap before are the boots better? She must have full movement in it so she can run and get fit?

    bbc 2 now

Just watched it on iplayer, i was very impressed with her. She got stuck right into everything and toughed it out even when she hated it. A really good program
  10. My bitch is due to finally be off lead walks after a stopper pad injury that just wouldnt heal. it happened at christmas and was opened up and restitched twice. After the last time i have kept her lead walks for the past 7 weeks. The injury seems healed and she is raring to go next week when the 8 weeks is up. She has had a lot of excersize on and off the road but hasnt been off the lead for 8 weeks. What i want to avoid is her going crazy as soon as she gets off the lead, i will walk her seperate from the others, away from quarry and keep the stopper bandaged whenever she is out. is ther
  11. Very good thread, i really enjoy reading about hunting in different parts of the world. Keep these posts coming

  13. Some of the ground we hunt is thick woods, when the dogs get on quarry its impossible to keep up with them and too thick to see where they are. i would like to train my bushing terrier to lead me to the lurchers by following their scent. Has anyone done this and if so, got any tips?

  15. Here you go nokia. My fiances dog, sire was JRT and dam was whippet. Bred by dogger from here. Doing all we ask of him
  16. My three jills and my vasectomised hob have all lived together for over a year now with no squabbles at all - long may it continue .
  17. im sure we will, the action will be even better when we get Tyla going too! i wasnt too sure about Parker as a lamper before we tried him but it looks like he will be able to offer Tyla some stiff competition! Has anyone else found rabbits in that state? The train tracks run close by so that may have caused it but what surprised me was the fact it was out in the field feeding, i would have thought it would have just crawled away to die after losing two legs but apparently not - tough little bugger!
  18. Thanks, it just makes me want to get my bitch going again, once shes finally fit again!
  19. Me and Assasingirl took Parker, her JRTxwhippet, over to herdwicks ground yesterday. We spent a couple of hours bushing with herdwicks terriers and had a few rabits flush but none caught although the terriers had a moorhen. Saw the most incredible gymnastic rabbit too which flushed from between the paws of three terriers, sumersaulted out from between their jaws and then escaped Parker by a whisker! We then went back to the farm and were treated to a slap up dinner of venison sausages. Went out lamping later and had a great night. Parker took 6 rabbits from 7 slips and ran them very
  20. Wind your necks in you two. The girl is being supervised by her other half and is not pretending to be knowledgable on the subject, dont knock her for having a go. She is learning which everyone had to do at some time, or were you born knowing it all? Well done JPT, i'll give you your due, you take a lot of grief on here but you never give up. You keep getting out there and learning and doing it and, hopefully, you'll soon stop dropping yourself in it!
  21. Me and Assasingirl will be there with the dogs, saturday i think. it would be good to put a few faces to names!
