  1. Me, Amy and a mate took out the ferrets and Parker for our first foray. Tyla was lame yet again so had to watch but it was a good day overall. 16 rabbits bolted into a mixture of long and purse nets with a couple scooped up by Parker. And no digging!
  2. Only you know how good you are and at what ranges you can shoot. i have dropped plenty with chest shots but the shot obviouslt has to be in the right place and able to penetrate. i try and take shots side on to avoid the crop. Next time you shoot one disect it so you can see exactly where the heart and lungs sit in the body. Happy hunting
  3. Contact Dirtwinger, he runs jack rabbits with lurchers and falcons. I think hes in Arizona but sure he could give you some pointers about where to start
  4. I made a couple of baskets last year and put a "how to" post up. Should still be here somewhere
  5. Hi Rian, welcome to THL. Its always ways good to hear from new members from overseas. Get some posts and pictures up, Im interested to see your local PCP
  6. I said the thread was ruined by idiots and I stand by what I said. It was an idiotic argument that ruined a good thread. Thats no personal attack on anyone before you all start tearing strips off me but they are the facts. Its not the end of the world and Im sure we've all done dafters things. Just a shame thats all.
  7. Good dogs actur, I bet you have alot of game over there. What are the laws like and is it easy to get your permission? As I said earlier, Im always very interested in how its done in other parts of the world! Happy hunting!
  8. Bickering over whether flatbands are better than square or tubes, then it degenerated into name calling and got closed. As I said before "idiots"
  9. Good looking dogs and catches. Welcome to the forum artur, i look forward to seeing more posts from you. i think its fascinating to see hunting in different ways and from different places!
  10. So, is there any chance of it being resurrected with the last few pages removed? Otherwise it will just slide down the page and disappear and we will be back to having new threads asking questions that have already been answered on there?
  11. Another idiot, granted it should have been moved from the gamekeeping section but you can see by the number of posts that plenty of members were interested. Whats wrong with a bit of live and let live? There are plenty of parts of this forum that dont interest me, that does not mean I want them deleted - whats so special about you that means anything you're not interested in ought to be deleted??? :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: Well said Tyla. If all branches of country sports had stuck together we may have kept hunting as it was. Thank you! A lone voice of reason in the THL wi

  13. Well done guys, you've successfully ruined one of the most interesting and long running threads on this forum. I hope you're really proud of yourselves And before anyone has a go at me, I watched that daft arguement start and attempted to diffuse it. It is truly pathetic, a couple of grown men calling each other names over the internet and over what ..... F*CKING CATAPULTS!!!!!! Get a grip please people! Mods - any chance of deleting the last fews pages of rubbish and unlocking the rest of the thread? Its a really good thread and offers a lot of info which is bound to be asked abo
  14. Nice one Phil Hope you have better luck with these ones mate. Did you ever work out what happened to the others?
  15. It looks handy, especially if you hunt in woods, recall is great but only if you want to call them off what they're hunting. If they kill after a long run through thick cover and you cant find them and have to call them back then you've lost your quarry.
  16. Crock of shit, you can call me an anti all you want but theres no sport to that. Cruelty pure and simple. There must be a seperate forum somewhere that caters only for blood thirsty halfwits that some of you people can go to? Otherwise we all get tarred with the same brush
  17. i quite fancy that , and the dogs not bad ether lol So do I mate
  18. No one can guarantee an instant kill every shot but you owe it to your quarry to to do your best to humanely despatch it everytime. This means NOT taking random potshots and just hoping to hit it somewhere. In the unlikely event of you managing to hit it, you are unlikely to hit it anywhere vital especially if your struggling to kill them when they're stationary?!?! On a lighter note when I was a kid, I once saw a mate shoot a flying starling (when they were on the general licence) from the hip with a BSA meteor. It was dead before it hit the ground. It was a total fluke and not something
  19. Good for you giving him a chance, thats what its all about!
  20. Bloody hell, theres some miserable sods on here. The man has a dog which hes happy with and has put up a thread which wasnt a bad read and straight away hes been slated and told his dog is ugly and incapable. Was anyone else there ... NO ... so how do you know what did or didnt happen?!?!?! This is the reason this forum is full of shit threads, no one can be arsed to post just to take flak off the internet vultures. Theres a few people commenting who I've never read a worthwhile post from, only sarky comments about the efforts of others. Maybe you should be out there doing a bit ra
  21. Nice pack, hows the red terrier bred? I have one that looks similar but I rescued him so dont know his breeding Cheers
