Have you ever actually taken big game with a bow ? And what do you consider a long time ?...just establishing how much knowledge you actually have on the subject cause as of right now it sounds like you have none. Your "true" is bullshit... Bud, take no notice. I started to get involved in this and then realized that its not worth the time spent typing. If you dont know then you dont know, if you've done it then you do. These boys with their airguns dont make mistakes, we'd better shape up!

My wife is an ecologist and im a dyed in the wool hunter. She runs her own dog, ferrets, bushes etc but is still prone to taking their side in an arguement. They are fed statstics gathered by people with no more knowledge than would fit in a teaspoon. Unfortunately these stats are also what is used to set legislation. No wonder ridiculous laws get passed, the people who actually know dont speak out and the people who would like to know but dont scream the place down. A sad state of affairs.

Hello mate, hows tricks? Sounds like you should have kept hold of Parkers litter sister lol. Are you still in touch with any of the rest of the litter?

In a word, no, a fox killed by lurchers, before the ban of course, is not torn to bits. With a pack of hounds the body of the fox is broken up which is maybe what you are refering to? By that point the fox is well and truly dead and not suffering. You only have to compare the size of a fox and a hound to to see how quick the end is, then add the rest of the pack. It looks messy but there is little suffering involved. As for your "cuppa" comment, dont take the piss. You are welcome to any opinion you like, i'll take them seriously when they are based on experience rather than hearsay.

but if they leave a blood trail you can follow them and find out where they dropped,a good old soux indian tip! yeah thats where bow hunting should have stayed really with the cowboy and indians he he ATB hi alex sorry buddy could not resist ! shame its a day early regards davy thats alright davy... i'l be doing a few tomorrow! i can see why people hunt foxs with dogs, its part of the english tradition but the fact is a load of dogs tear a fox to pieces.... i can see why people bow hunt, again the hunting routes can be traced back thousand

Whats with the bolt crops and wire cutters, surely not for cutting fences?

Lovely looking little hounds. I had a very good day out with a similar pack this season

Latex gloves?? Yep, my mate gave me a couple of big boxes of them at the beginning of the season. When paunching i wear a pair and stick the knife through the finger of another one. When your finished gloves off, clean hands and clean knife even the blade. Not really a necessity but bloody handy at the end of the night when your cold, tired and cant find a trough! Weigh next to nothing too keep's your hands warm as well,,eh yes I too felt very worried the first time I went lamping with tyla and we pulled up down a dark lane in the middle of nowere to gut the rabbits and

In my pockets an Opinel, insulation tape, spare slip which doubles as a game carrier and a head torch. In the van bottle of water, some non fizzy energy drink, first aid kit and latex gloves. Dog and lamp too!

Only 21" tts but a real power house, i dont mean heavily built just very strong for a small dog and full of fire. He came from up your way, an accidental mating from a guy on here. If he keeps going the way he is for another couple of seasons i might well use him across my bitsa bitch.

Mine, no idea whats in him. Hes just started to come right this season after a shaky start. Works well as a rough shooting dog and is becoming a competent ratter

nice lookin' dog mate, he got much speed on him? turkish He does lack a little top end but makes up for it with acceleration and agility. He would never have made the grade as a coursing dog before the ban but he has more than enough speed for rabbits and stuff
-
I've got one and he does everything i need him to, lamps, bushes, ferrets and tough as old boots. I highly recommend them. Unfortunately hes laid up at the moment after nearly losing an eye to a blackthorn, he seems to be getting there though and hes got all summer to recover.

I dont suppose it achieves anything, but this is a hunting forum afterall(sometimes i wonder) and people like to hunt illegal stuff and if they want to do that then good on them. Its not there fault that theres a ban and there sport has been taken for them but its down to this "lie back and take it" attitude that it exists in the first place. What i like to do and what i publish on a public forum have very little relation to each other. As for lieing back and taking it, I marched, I petitioned and I still make an effort to promote hunting. I regularly take newbies or even interested par

its called standing up and being counted As an anonymous user name? That'll show 'em. Whatever, im not interested in an argument. It just seems like a waste of time that could have serious consequences for those involved and, indirectly, all of us.
