    Darbo didn't post that pic I did mate ,the lady in picture is 86 yr old and still strong as a ox.

    Same as mate,picking fruit was a holiday to us kids anyway and we get see our mates we not see for a yr since last picking season.

    I don't bother with kaneys unless the dogs take one ,took hundreds in my time but like you I like to see my dogs run on what ever we can push up .How's the dogs foot ,hope he's getting better. have a good day .

    I still got his books and mostly first ad .lot of folk slag Brian but mostly it's jealous folk because he made £few quid out it. lots slag him and they mostly same lads that followed him every were .and yes they few on thl .

    Lot of travelers and gorgers would go hop picking ,folk from London and surrounding areas would go Kent my family would work the fruit fields on the fens and once the fruit was over they would go hereford for hops apples and pears . b honest spuds were back breaking and picking stones out fields while tractor went up down with ya .do 12 shift you slept well.

    My grandad had bedy x collie xs but my dad would use any x as long as it filled the pot.be honest my dad didn't use a juckel for poaching that much it was nets and wires.and he always fed us 8 kids and made anufe for pub money . my old nan she went hawking one day with basket pegs etc .came home with a sausage dog that was craping all over the nice mans house..it went on to produce some cracking Russel xs. i put some more pics up .

    When I was a kid I'd go out with my old nan hawking pegs,lace ,flowers my grandad had grinding bike and he'd take good money , dont see it any more,shame .

    lived on the rd through the 70s and 80s and I got to be honest I karnt remember ever being cold ,of course every one feels the bad weather but traveling people are used to being out side and spend more time out in the elements than most .it was a good way to live ,but like been said not many of the olders left .

    Spoke to Pete couple times over the yrs ,comes across as a really nice fella .i was looking at getting a pup from Pete but didn't due to health probs ,that around same time you got yours . i see in Cmw he's bred glen x bedlington,glover also did this x .
