  1. Another possible way is to get involved with a local pack of hounds/beagles. Theres always a few lads with a few terriers and you can look, listen and learn. Rebel
  2. Hi Bolty, You were looking for me to contact you. I have your number and might try and ring you later if thats ok. Thanks Rebel

  4. Hi, I was just wondering if there is a show in Kilmacthomas, Co. Waterford coming up shortly. For some reason, I thought it might be on this weekend. If anyone has any details, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Rebel
  5. Nikey, I would be interested, can you pm me the details? Thanks Rebel
  6. Terriers and Terriermen has been reprinted and it is for sale for £49.00 + postage. I know that copies of the first print are like gold dust and I'm just wondering if worth the investment. Any opinions would be welcome. Thanks Rebel
  7. Chris, Cracking dogs, I have been on the look out for something similar myself. Are there are any lads over here with your line? Thanks Rebel
  8. I was at the Kilkenny show last year, a good show with plenty of dogs. Does anyone know if Mullinavat Harriers and Tory Hill beagles are having a show this year. They had one two years ago, it was a fairly good one too and only up the road. Rebel
  9. Hi Bock, Very nice strong pups. Are there any pups available or have they all been spoken for? Rebel
  10. Its a classic, I had it on my pc but lost it along the way and would love to have it again. I can't access youtube in work, is it possible for anyone to copy the file to this post? Thanks Rebel
  11. Forgive my ignorance, but why would you want to tap birch sap? What is it used for? Thanks
  12. Oldskool, In reply to your post, and as you said no offence to the English Bull, but I'd say the English Bull from the 60s and 70s was a different animal to the ones of today, there was probably still working strains back then. As I said in my post it was purely an observation and based on the particular strain that I was familar with. It wasn't meant as a generalisation. Any bull that was introudced would have beed done a long long time ago and would be very diluted. I'm sure there are plenty of other guys on here who would know more and would be better qualified than me to com
  13. I would agree with most of what has been said here about the Wheaten and with what Eamonn Mc said. I have never owned a wheaten but I saw wheatens working. The ones that I saw were all from the same breeding, kept by a man who at the time worked them very hard and only kept and bred from those that did the job right. They were excellent at their job and were some animals. I wouldn't mind a few of those dogs in my yard now. The dogs could get to a fairly big size, wouldn't know the exact measurement. I think with a lot of the working wheatens there is a bit of bull blood (I was always
  14. I was thinking of subscribing as well, and was just wondering if it is worth subscribing to. Are there good articles etc. Thanks
  15. I would agree with everyone, I got the book on a Friday and had it finished by Monday, great read, some great stories and brillant characters.
  16. Nice looking trap millet, any chance you could give a brief explanation on how you make them. Or is the patent pending. Thanks
  17. Trev, Just someone who is interested in working terriers. I was under the impression that forums were places where people could discuss items of interest and that is all I was trying to do. I just wanted to create a discussion similar to all other discussions on this forum on the subject of strong dogs which having searched through the forum doesn't really seemed to have been discussed. If people don't like a topic or aren't interested then they just don't reply. What should my first post be "lovely looking dog mate"? Rebel
