Whoever said it... 50yards----68yards........Springer?.....Bipod?????? I can't deny I would like to see that video too. We can all make big shots sometimes, but SOMETIMES is the important bit. Shots like this, with these tools, should not to be considered under any normal hunting circumstances. Another very important thing to remember is IN THE FIELD!!!! We can all measure 50 yards on a range..take 20 shots to zero and then, with a bit of luck, fire a couple in the right place...how often do you get the chance to do that in the field against live quarry. Please do not say lu

Substitute everything I said for the .17HMR for the .22LR. The range will also be around 1.5 miles. Reason is, although the HMR will tend to be that much faster at the muzzle it is also a lot lighter so it doesn't carry the energy over distance and tails off quickly. The .22LR is slower but heavier and carries energy more efficiently. End of the day the figure will be very similar. About 1.5 miles for both. Remember these answers are generalisations as you have given no detail to work with.

That's the piece of string question. A .17g or a .20g, HP, FMJ or SP, which manufacturer, horizontal shooting, sea level, rifle, length of barrell, etc, etc???????? The very simple answer is around 1.5 miles if you point in in the air at an angle of around 32 degrees! However, as I say you can get a lot of variation on that. I would not suggest you tell your FLO you point your HMR in the air and fire it.

You are not allowed to use a relation so it will depend on the interpretation of relation. But I don't think they would be that keen on the idea. I would suggest you find someone else to avoid any potential problems. A referee with the same address as the applicant will obviously raise questions from the police. You could just call them and ask if it was ok!

Wise words from DS. £150 for gunsmith work, whilst painful to us all, is not that much in gun terms IF it solves the problem! If that just buys you a short term work around until the next grief forget it!

You guys crease me up... this is a simple mathematical situation spiced up to look mystical. If you follow the instructions and do your maths correctly it will always work. Its maths not magic

Manufacturers tend to go to the trouble and expense of building fuses into circuits for the safety of either people or equipment or both. (commonly they are also required to comply with electrical regulations) I have no idea what fuse is meant to be in the Logan but if you took out a 5amp 250V and that is the original fuse then replace with the same. Any electric wholesaler or half decent electric store or DIY store will have them.

Again DS is probably your man here BUT there are genuine Fenn or Springer on Ebay. I've had a few bits from Atlantic Stratford (the site you saw the copies on)...you just need to be careful exactly what you do get from them! Also http://www.decoying.co.uk/ 10% discount for members of this site!

Unless your desperate to get a "Harris" i would have a look on American ebay, i got mine from there. i cant remember the make but its every bit as good as my mates Harris except cost less than £30 delivered as opposed to £60 plus. To get the bottla clampyou would probably be best looking in the UK though. Good luck I suspect you mean the Rockmount Bipod. If you compare it side by side with the Harris it isn't quite as good, BUT, there is hardly anything in it and it could well be worth considering!

The Sportsman are the importers in England so you will get a fair price from them. But your local; dealer may be able to match it. The 9-13 Swivel with notched or straight legs can be found for £69.95...I think it lists for about £105. Bottle clamp will be an extra cost of course!

DS is your man here......... but this are not genuine!!! No4 or No6.....fakes or proper.......... be careful of your fingers!

I think one or two people are getting a little carried away The question was ....what is the best for £150 Not ...what is the best!

Land access in and around Stannington, Sheffield?
Deker replied to Bunny-Blaster's topic in Airgun Hunting
I'm a little surprised, I know you say you have only been there a few months but the landlord/managers/tennants of all the pubs close to my shoots know everyone, and everyone knows them, and they get to go out shooting whenever they want. Can't any of your regulars/customers steer you in the right direction or help you out? -
Been going around for years this one but its still a good one. If you want to keep the magic and don't want to know how it's done do not read on! Answer at bottom!! The answer will always be a multiple of 9! 9-18-27-36-45 etc etc, so they just change the symbols round to each multiple of 9 every time, so it looks like you guess a different symbol every time.

or a rat OR anything else...squirrel, snake, fox, mink etc...about 15 years back I was out one lovely summers evening with my mate Andy who had a very unfortunate encounter with an adder down a rabbit hole...don't mind admitting it scared the s**t out of me as well. He recovered ok but the hospital were a bit lost what to do to start with, and you can still see a bit of mark and discolouration on his hand.

Stubby Help me out....I know the resevour on that TDR is not very big but....a good 500-800 refills...how big is your bottle and how many shots do you get from a charge???? Assuming a minimum of 500 refills, and say 1 a week, that would mean 10 years before you need the bottle topping up. Put another way, you will never charge the bottle as it will only ever be half used at the 5 year test. On that basis and 800 refills, you talk in terms of 16 years between charges and 3 bottle tests before you drop the pressure and need a top up! Deker

12ft lb The .22 is still a better low power killing tool shot for shot. The .177 is without doubt faster and flatter and therefore in the right hands potentially more accurate. However, you need to be more accurate with it as it does not arrive with the thump of the .22. You do not have quite the margin of error on the shot that you do with a .22. IF you are a good, and consistantly good shot, the .177 is an admirable hunting tool. In many cases against many quarry you need to take the head shot with a .177, against a rat for example, there is every chance a .177 will go cl

http://www.justcartridges.com/ I think you will struggle to get anything more than 7 in a 2" 410. I know 9's are available but I think probably only in 21/2" or 3". Shotgun cartridge prices seem to have gone through the roof in the last 2 or 3 years and the economies of scale means you have a very wide choice in 12g, and 410 are commonly more expensive than 12G

I am self employed and poor so I only have a Hotmail address...apparently that makes me an inferior human being and fails to give me any voice on the BBS, if they don't want to mix with mere mortals then they needn't ask for my help when the time comes to march on Parliament. I totally accept they can make whatever rules they like but they want THEIR CLUB!!! It appears they do not want to stand side by side with me, right or wrong where is the empathy and equality in that? Tragically this is the very reason the Government can walk all over shooters, there are so many fragmented or

Even Gamo list several of theirs to be below 12 and only rate some at full power. My lad has recently bought a (new) RSV and we are struggling to get 10ft lb out of it when it lists as Full Power (16j). You are either very lucky (or unlucky) to get over 12 out of one, tuning specialists such as Terry Robb will tell you 10ft lb is not bad for one of these. I put a thread up a month or two back asking how I could get my lads nearer 12 without breaking the bank, I'd be pleased to hear how/why you think the ones you have had experience of make it that high so I can tune my lads. Cheers
