In England you may well struggle...N Ireland no idea..probably best to simply ask your firearms dept for their opinion!
-
Time to hang up the gun if you can't make that one!!!
-
They are the most useless, overpriced, inaccurate, barrel screwing up, energy wasting pellet, you would ever want to give to your worst enemy..... But it must be 10 years since I last used then as they were so awful.. Just my opinion...things may have changed ..but I think not!!

They are staying within the law. It take 5ft's of pressure to cleanly crush a rabbit's scull at 30 yard's. Chap For all I know it may take 5ft lb of pressure to crush a rabbit skull...never put a rabbit head in a vice 30 yards away to test it.... But at delivery, in the right place with a pointed pellet a rabbit will die with 2.5ft lb baby, and 4.0ft lb adult MAX!!!..but he won't have a crushed skull...just a neat hole!!!
-
No idea what is actually going on here but the power will not go up from 9.3 to 12ft lb moving from AA field to Bisley Magnum!!

Wise words from many ...and here are some more... The Sword IS mightier than the word in some situations...... Some hard pruning in the membership department is required, sad but true! And the plant will grow and thrive!

Yeh and whilst I totally agree...doesn't this thread seem a bit familiar too !!!

.22LR zeroed at 60 yards for subs!!

I get the impression jamie likes bore snakes, it's quite well known I think that I'm not a fan at all...but hey ...forums..that's what they are all about...a mixture of views and opinions

Thats how I was taught when I first started using shotguns But we won't go into the effects of that technique You need to identify each target individually. Shotgun lead is one of the hardest things to judge and get used to but if you practice enough, as Dwighet said, clays are a great way to get different targets but also a batch of similar ones. The amount of lead will change with each bird. If you have a Pigeon flying at 50 MPH then it will need a good bit of lead, if you have an ambling Crow at 20 MPH then hardly anything, just ahead of him. It all depends on the target.

Probably a plan to try another mag....I recently got a CZ HMR with metal mag and had all sorts of problems with it, took it back and found it was actually 2mm short..unbelievable, the gunsmith noticed it as mine and another were stood next to each other on the counter...we were all gobsmacked, me, Mr L , my lad, the gunsmith and the shop owner, none of us could believe what we were actually looking at...been fine since I got a new mag!!!

Grim...I understand your question (I think) and I suspect what you are really after is the best colour filter to use..but like I say above ..... They can see light intensity but not orange colour...so they can't see orange, but they can see your light so orange filters are a waste of time!!! You might just as well use an unfiltered lamp with a dimmer control on it as I do if that is the case I hope someone can explain this if I have it wrong as it seems that any filter is a waste of time......light intensity is the apparent answer so dimmer units are required not filters....HE

Steady on...we all have an opinion based on our experiences.... and I have the FN19RS multi shot...I love it but it is nowhere near as well made a gun as the AA410..even though they both come out of the same building...but I still couldn't ever consider buying a single shot again for what I use it for!! :thumbs-up:
-
Thats a fair point Deker , but you can buy a multi shot mag for the S400 for i think about £50 , always fancied one , but not got one just yet buster321c Cheers...I think that sort of confirms my thinking....

The 400 is a fine gun but I don't understand the thinking (other than money..so save up a bit longer) behind anyone buying a PCP (for hunting) and getting a single shot ...you need a multishot so get the 410! I would not entertain a single shot these days and I suspect you would get the same response from any multishot owner! Just my opinion of course!!

I think you will find that is down to familiarity rather than what they can or can't see, near roads they come into contact with Clear, Red, Orange, Blue etc lights regularly!
-
I'm a little lost here...help me understand this using small words an old boy like me can make sense of!!! and cant see orange....ok I am simple...what are you saying here??? They can see light intensity but not orange colour...so they can't see orange, but they can see your light so orange filters are a waste of time!!! You might just as well use an unfiltered lamp with a dimmer control on it as I do if that is the case

Never used one but saw one at a show (at Bisley I think), anyway I would share Richies view above. This is a plinker, it will obviously do the job in some situations but certainly not to be taken seriously as a hunting or target tool...so that leaves plinking!!!

I suspect you better let your fingers do some walking around the web... This is my man but probably not much help to you... Batteryman 45 Watmore Lane Winnersh Wokingham RG41 5JS Berkshire Tel: 01189 788410 Fax: 0118 9788410

Ok if you have ONE rabbit only to shoot at but potentially rather difficult at air rifle ranges where you could have a field full of them!
-
You answered your own question!!!
-
I suspect they can see all the light filter colours...just a matter of which ...and in which situation they can live with best! If there was one they could not see we would have found it by now and everyone would use it!! Never had any particular success with filters on any animals so I simply use a lamp with a dimmer these days and adjust the light as appropriate...works as well or better than any filter in my experience!!

I think I am right in saying I have only used weights between 55-62g in my T3 Lite with 1-8 twist..and some very cheap ammo too, it handles everything well...all the maths says it shouldn't but it does..used it at 500 & 600 yards at Bisley as well with 62g Barnaul and pulled out V Bulls. I have asked GMK and Tikka about the change back to 1-12 and not got any sensible response, I was a little surprised about 3 or 4 years ago when they decided to change the range from 1-12 to 1-8 but heard good things about the 1-8 so I got one, about a year ago I noticed they were bringing the 1-12 bac

Either or both...if the barrel requires a scrub you will struggle with a pull through, if it needs a light clean a pull through will do! Some will use a brush and rod to clean and then finish with a pull through!! Pull through being defined as a pull through...NOT a bore snake!!!!
