  1. The Wolf is a complete cartridge and is a Boat Tail!!!
  2. Good luck...a 20Amp rig is a lot of weight to cart around!!!!
  3. "Windscale" should just about be able to handle it!!
  4. The pump will be more reliable but harder to use on the clays..but I have seen some excellent clay shooters with the pumps!! The Semi will always be a quicker action, but needs a fair bit of cleaning and maintenance to keep them sweet, and are always cartridge fussy, but why is a O/U not on the list???
  5. £1 per lb, whole but skinned, which is the same as above!!
  6. A bit of luck never goes amiss, but good write up, good shooting and a great looking bit of land!!
  7. There is no recoil from a .22LR and a HMR, and next to none from a .223 so you can't be used to it. That's the first thing anyone used to a springer says when they fire a .22LR... "theres no recoil at all" The Lightning is dramatically different in feel to any of the above, and you will never get the accuracy from a 12ft air rifle as you will from any of the above. But yes, with practice and within it's limited range, you can get very accurate with a Lightning!!
  8. He has the advantage...he is in Wales!!
  9. .223 Wolf 55g HP £18 per 100 ! I make that £3.60 for 20!!! Even more fun on fox!!!
  10. MORE EXPENSIVE.... That's the Ordinary version without a Dimmer this can be had for £79.95 from Uttings, making Uttings £10 cheaper!! What you get is what you chose, everyone has an opinion, pays your money and takes your choice, but several people I know who bought units WITHOUT a Dimmer switch have soon decided they made a mistake!! Shining a gun mounted light Off target is going to make hitting the target hard, and a hand held is a nightmare if you are alone...just something to consider, but like I say the choice is yours!!
  11. I like the Deben Min and Max Pro kits....no suggestion they are the "Best" (whatever that may mean), but they work, are fairly reliable, give a decent beam and if they do breaK are easy to fix, they also offer good value for money....! My only real strong suggestion is MAKE SURE YOU GET A UNIT WITH A DIMMER SWITCH!!! http://www.uttings.com/ £99.95 for the Mini & Max Pro kits with a free red filter as well at the moment.....don't get the Stinger or Atom!!!
  12. Lest there be any confusion whatsoever from my post I am not, and have not, and do not intend to criticise anyone here. I was simply trying to make the point it is not for me!!! dicehorn...you ever been up Berksfire Shooting...Pangbourne way..I've seen a couple of motors up there with GUN in the plate???!!!
  13. ..don't even get close to another member of this site who only lives a couple of miles from me!!
  14. Does this help...... http://www.sportsmatch-uk.com/to49c.htm http://www.sportsmatch-uk.com/to50c.htm
  15. This week I have bought a rifle on my FAC, sold a shotgun on my SGC and bought a rifle for me on my club FAC (which is in my name)...just written to my Firearms Dept to tell than and it's just dawned on me you don't often do transactions yourself on 3 different certificates in a week!!
  16. Hi woz, but each type of ammo takes a different milli second off the life, and care and attention also plays a big part.....and was that the stainless barrel???? .....And by the same token the engine on a Ford Mondeo last 123406 miles, my Duracell battery lasts 3hours 29 minutes, and my razor blade last 8 days!!
  17. I only bothered to pull the trigger once, I was beating a lot, but I have to say I spent much of the day drinking in the whole event..runs as one drive one beat...had to chuckle at how little practice most of the guys get and how much EACH shot actually cost them!! I'm really not being cynical..they probably think I'm a twat walking round the fields at night with a lamp, they pay, they enjoy they support an industry..each to their own..as I say No criticism from me PS..... Forgot...lots of dogs and most were great!!
  18. Over in Marlborough today for a Pheasant shoot; now most of you will know this is not my thing...far to artificial for me. Anyway, a good pal runs his own shoot on 1500 acres close to Savernake Forest and kept asking me (kept asking me for help with pens/repairs/gardening (ha Ha) all year as well)..so I went today>>>>>> The usual collection of personal number plates and one prick had a personal professional loader ...NOT 2 GUNS, just the one which he would break and then stand there whilst the loader put 2 new cartridges in!!! F*** M*!!! Now don't get me wrong, I

  20. 20 Yards to 70 yards with a 12ft lb??? Parallax works like this, you will never find these two distances "focused"....don't knock the scope...I think you have just bought the wrong one for your gun and requirements! .......flippen 'ek buster321c, what was that????
  21. I think it is too expensive!!
  22. Hornady do a 30grn balistic tip, remington do a 33grn balistic tip, so do cci if you find any i would be interested in where arcpest The CCI Ballistic tables make the round look very impressive, much better than their other 30g, so if anyone can tell me where to find some I'd like to try it as well... Cheers
