  1. Hi. I have a 1942 Mosin Nagant 91/30 with PU 3.5x scope. However, looking through the scope is is very slightly out on the focus and very slightly yellowed - hardly noticable but there. Is there anything I can do (other than buy a new one!) to clean up these optics? Is it worth trying to clean them? Is it possible to get the glass within them replaced? Many thanks for any help, Shaun.
  2. Hey Vihtavuori do have a download link for their latest reloading data, including some on 22 Hornet. not sure if it is any use but here you go... Reloading Data I have used this data for my 7.62x54R and it works very well Anyway, hope this is of use... Shaun.
  3. I use one and it's great. I bolted it to my workmate bench on the corner and never had a problem with it. I would hate to trim cases manually by hand!
  4. Hi. Thanks for the reply Mr Logic. It seems that the Leupold FAQ section actually answered my question. Following what it said did indeed get my adjustment where I wanteed it to be. The link to the official site FAQ is here (under section 6 if intersted), Leupold FAQ and I have included what it says in brief here... "If an issue exists on the windage axis, the correction needs to be made with windage adjustable bases or rings. Leupold offers windage adjustable bases (STD) which have two windage screws holding the rear ring. By loosening one side and tightening the other, they sh
  5. Hi all. I have a Leupold VX-1 4x12 scope from new, and it is about 1 year old now. This is a basic Leopold scope, but I think the clarity is fantastic. However, I seem to have a lot of height adjustment, but the windage doesn't seem to have as much by far, probably about 1/4 as much I would guess. Also, the windage drum seems to move the crosshairs for half of the turning capacity, but the rest of the play which is about another full turn and a half doesn't seem to do anything! Is this normal or would you say this is not functioning quite right? If I needed to get this repaired
  6. And I have answered my own question - lol! I should have read a bit more on the web on this! The answer is yes it will only size the neck for fire-formed cases. Full length resizer to factory reset. Cheers, Shaun.
  7. Hi. Just started to reload 7.62x54R and have an RCBS Neck Sizer die (part 29030). The cases I have are fire-formed for this firearm. Now here's the thing; I assume this will simply neck resize and decap rather than full length resize?? I don't think there is a collet die available for this calibre, but would appreciate information if there is! I use collet dies for .223 and .308 Many thanks, Shauny.
  8. Hi. Here's a question for y'all. Take the ubiquitous Remington 700 in .223 or .308 - how many rounds would you be able to shoot before needing it to be re-barreled? Let's assume that they are not shooting full-whack loads all the time, just reasonable velocity FMJ's. Would we be talking 2,000, 10,000, 100,000 rounds!! Cheers, Shauny. :alcoholic:
  9. Jamie. When you say he seated them deeper, do you mean deeper into the cartridge or deeper into the rifle barrel towards the lands? Also while I am here, does anyone have a Sierra reloading manual to hand - what does it recommend the seating depth for the 69g Sierra Matchking to be?? Many thanks, Shaun.
  10. Hey guys - thanks all for the responses! What I am going to do having read through them all is drop the COL back to recommended for this bullet and increase the powder charge towards the max to find the best sort of groups, if any. Then I will increase the COL based on the best group/charge and see if it then improves. I will let you know what happens. Thanks all, Shaun.
  11. Hi. Please can someone advise me on the following - I know you guys can work magic I have a Remington VTR .223 with a 9T barrel, and it shoots great groups with 55grain bullets. However, I know the 9T's should be able to stabilize and shoot up to 73 grain heads. I have tried several batches of 69g Sierra matchking with 25.5 grains BLC2, but the accuracy is terrible! They are all over the place but give a consistent velocity of ~2750 fps. I have measured the seating depth for these specific bullets for my chamber and I am seating to 2.310'', just back off the lands of 2.315''.
  12. Hey. I have a Remington 700 VTR with a 9T barrel, and reload 55g fmjbt with 25.5 of BL-C2 which work great. However, I have also started to reload 69g Sierra MatchKings (fmjbt) with 24.5g of BL-C2 and they are tumbling wildly. Is this because I need a bit more of a kick behind them? I am loading at the minimum powder range for this bullet weight so can up the load some. And I have bought stuff from www.midwayuk.com - seem to be ok. MidwayUK For bullets, look here... Specific bullets at MidwayUK Thanks, Shauny.
  13. Hey guys thanks for the input. I will give it a go with a few rounds and see what they are like. Shaun.
  14. Hi. I am reloading .243 but I am a bit nervous of this cartridge for some reason! The thing that is bothering me most is my bullet seating depth. I am using Sierra 95 grain FMJBT on top of 40 grains of Hodgdon H4350, and the cartridge overall length is 2.65'' which is what it says on the Hodgdon web site but for a 95 GR. NOS PART. Is this seating depth OK for this powder/bullet weight combination?? Ta!
  15. Hey great grouping - I will aspire to get to this!
