    Try your local farms, but a lot don't like giving permission unless they know you. Farms are one of the best places to find rats in good numbers and it's good fun ratting

    Got another two yesterday, but no where near as big. Caught one in a fenn trap in a tunnel and one in the cage trap thats in the top picture. A surprise to catch one in the cage trap when it was baited with a jam doughnut, for rats "King of ..." threads a must for 2008, be it squirrels, rats or whatever else

    How come there are a number of Gin Traps for sale on Ebay, but when I tried to sell one I got my listing cancelled? I stated in my listing "For Display/Collection only" and "Illegal to use in the UK" as others have put, but other listings are still there, mine isn't. Is there somthing else you have to write to allow Gin Traps to be sold? Anyone else had listings cancelled for no clear reason?

    Get yourself one of these. I got this out of a scrap pile at a local farm, £50 for a new valve and a lick of paint good as new . Easy enough to make if your handy with a welder too, hydraulic ram and valve, a few hydraulic hoses,old rsj and a few off cut bits of steel. Should be less than £150 to do, well worth it if you burn a lot of wood and you have access to a tractor Or cut the logs into shorter pieces, should split easier.

    The penalty for having a 12ft/lbs + airrifle with no fac would differ between cases. I would say it would depend more on what you did to get caught with it. In my opinion air rifles at sub 12ft/lbs are not up to humane kills on certain species, at certain ranges. Sub 12 ft/lbs I shoot up to 30/35yds. Personally I prefer 16 - 20 ft/lbs in my airrifles shooting up to 55 yards max, any further apply for a fac and get a silenced .22 rimfire or a .17 Tuning spring guns also adds to the recoil, you would be better tuning a pcp but the more power the less shots between fills and for the money you

    Looks like I spoke too soon, well its one less anyway Caught this fecker overnight with some bread with a sardine in it. Will keep trap set see if I get anymore. If problem persists probably try council action like ditch says. "she's do lally" you're not wrong

    I'm after £75 ono for my no longer used clay pigeon trap. It is british made and comes complete with stand. It'll throw a standard clay 50 metres+. It will throw two clays at a time and has a grease nipple on the pivot. Buyer to collect from CW3 area Staffs/Shropshire border

    With a pellet If there's loads of food about it will be hard to get them into a trap unless you're bait is irresistable. Are there any signs of tracks your side ? No signs of tracks my side unfortunately, if there was I would give that springing snare a go, looks good thanks pegandgun Shooting would be ideal but every time I've seen a rat its gone when I get the gun out

    What is the best way to catch rats I have got them from an old woman next door who feeds birds all hours of the day in her garden. She is feeding the birds bread and sh#t loads of it, even goes out at night in the dark to feed them. I have tried live catch cage trap (unset for a week) baited with bread,chicken,tinned sardines etc but they wont go anywhere near it, all I caught was a blackbird I dont really want to use poison in case the dogs get in it. Any ideas appreciated

    Mine is a mark 1 rapid (early one) and a HW80K. Both good guns, had the rapid from new about 1996, bought the HW80K last year to keep in the landrover
