Rolfe - This is my first catch with a talpex trap I set them the same as on your other post filling around the trap with soil to make moley think he's had a cave in. Not a bad result considering the traps are new and not weathered. I've caught him a bit far back - Not sure if I set the trap fine enough Photo's a bit crap - done on mobile phone

Solway feeders do them here

Mark, I have the same unit and can recommend it. Mine is a 90mw laser and I swap it between my rapid 7 and my mates .22 rimmy regularly, without the need to rezero. The only downside I have is that the unit does sit a bit far back, but you soon get use to it Infra red is fine for short distances. The unit has a built in illuminator which may be ok for the distances you will be shooting. If not you can buy an illuminator which bolts onto the unit. Correct, just fit the unit onto your scope An infra red illuminator (cheaper than a laser) should be fine at that distan

murraywatt - I think I'll try the sand idea, billy does spring to mind - but is the hole big enough for him SMOGGY - There was only the one hole in one catching compartment, the two photo's are the same just one is a close up. Wouldn't of thought antis as there's too little damage and the trap is in a pretty safe site at the end of my garden. There's a big thorn hedge bordering the fields and the neighbours are sound. Though the lack of feathers does suggest something after the bait and not after a bird

After finishing my larsen catching for a while, as I haven't seen or caught a maggie for a few weeks, I gave my call bird to a mate for his trap and thought I'd bait my empty trap with egg shells and bread to see if I could catch a jay or two. I went to check on the trap this morning (as I do every morning) and both trap doors were triggered, nothing was inside the trap and there was a hole in the wire The hole is egg shaped and measures about 5" x 3" So what has done this? It's looking like I've caught a bird and before I have got to the trap something else has beat me to

My first gun was a haenel mod 1 drp with open sights and no dovetail grooves to fix a scope on to. As a young lad I used to shoot starlings off the guttering with it (back in the days when it was legal) and many a starling fell to the trusty haenel, God knows how as I have still got the gun and I chrono'd it recently at 3ft/lbs and the barrel moves up and down when the guns closed. We recently went close up ratting with open sights on my HW80K. It allows you to get on to the target quicker and it's a lot easier to follow things on the move than with a scope. Ideal for short range pest contr

I gave up trying to catch my own call bird and got one dropped off by a mate on Monday morning . By the time he was in the trap and I'd sorted his water out and set it, it was about 9am. By 9.20am the first maggie was caught and he was off to do some calling in another mates trap. There was four swooping down yesterday going from tree to tree and hopping around the trap but not going in it. However the second one was caught this morning who is also off to another trap this afternoon

Tis TM - I found this info on the linconshire wildlife trust site, I don't think it's illegal I may be wrong though Moving spawn It is NOT recommended to move spawn at all, even from an apparently overcrowded pond. Let the spawn achieve a natural balance - "too many" tadpoles are a vital food source for many creatures, including their own brothers and sisters! Other concerns about moving spawn are to do with possible transference of diseases and inadvertently spreading invasive weeds such as Crassula helmsii (Australian marsh stonecrop) and azolla (Fairy fern). If you have to tr

RATS FACE EXTINCTION IN WILTSHIRE!
theobenmike replied to fishfish's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
Not meaning to highjack your post, but is there a way of stopping them holding on to the dead ones? The reason I am asking is a mate of mine has a patterdale bitch and she doesn't let go of the dead ones and misses the ones still running around, even if she's fresh and not tired I was wondering if letting her hunt with a couple more terriers would stop her hanging on? Maybe get jealous of what the others are catching, if you know what I mean. Any thoughts? Cheers Mike -
I'm not sure if anyone makes these for the HW100's but I have a bottle clamp from "Dr Bob" on the bbs, £24.50 delivered next day. It saves drilling your stock and on the rapids it allows you to mount your bipod further forward. He does two sizes for the different sized bottles on the rapids, so I know it's a long shot but one of them may fit your HW100. Send him a PM with a measurement of your cylinder diameter and he may well be able to help
