  5. Seems to be a lot about, not sure if it's something to do with the weather. I caught 12 in 2 live catch cage traps over about ten weeks. I caught 4 one week at the same time as a nearby field of maize was harvested. Them traps seem to be doing the trick though What you baiting yours with when you say "Bread for bait. "

  8. A mate of mine has got a shotgun cartridge/poacher type alarm. It's basically a metal spike that pushes into the ground with a pole on it. A length of fishing line (a trip wire) triggers a 12g cartridge to slide down this pole and hit a point at the bottom and bang. The thieves sh#t themselves and think they're being shot at I'm not sure if these are still legal and where you'd get one from if they are, but I'm sure a fella with a welder can soon knock one up. And one small point if you do use one, take the lead shot out of the cartridge

  13. You will work out the measurements you need by first setting your trap, this will give you the width, do not forget to allow for three quarters of an inch for the safety catch, then release the trap and you will have your height, allow about three quaters of an inch above that, the tunnel itself should be around two and a half feet long if it is going to be a run through or about eighteen inches if a dead end. Hope that is of some use, do not forget to push a couple of sticks in front to stop larger and non target species entering the tunnel. What mole trapper said but don't make the

  20. Richie, I've been looking at the cobra merlin to fit on my rapid. Just wandering how you get on with it on your rapid and did you have to put lean forward mounts on yours, or change your scope? I'm hoping to use it with a Simmons 3.5-10x50WTC if it'll fit. Only out to about 30ish yards on rats and rabbits. Any info appreciated
  21. What your after is a chronograph. A device which when you shoot over it, it gives you the feet per second of the pellet. Then I think it's this formula to work out the muzzle energy, got it written down somewhere but think this is right Fps x Fps x weight of pellet in grains 450240 I bought mine off ebay, think it was about £75. Or go to a local club or gunshop and see if they will test it for you
