  1. news It's nice to see that the VCR bill is working
  2. I find phone cameras ok for close up stuff, all the pics that I have posted on here are done with a sony ericsson mobile phone. However if you want more detail or your taking pictures over a longer distance get a second hand digital camera
  3. Try airgunbbs, there is normally a few people after them on there. New I seem to recall them being £76 chambers
  4. you dont need to be supervised as long as you are 15 and have a licence It is explained in the link what you can and can't do. I'm only expressing my thoughts on the matter So have one back Andy 08 And good luck to those who are applying for their SGC, shooting sports need as many young people as possible to carry on whilst being challenged more and more
  5. Try this link You can get a certificate under 17 years old, but if you need to be supervised when shooting or can't buy a shotgun or cartridges on your own - then you may aswell go shooting with someone who has a certificate and just apply for your own when you are 17 or older
  6. They look good runs to snare Are they drinking from that cast iron mexicans hat in the forth picture down
  7. Has anyone else had any flooding. Here's a couple of pics from the back garden. It's made the night shooting a bit difficult, the rabbits can hear you walking over the sodden ground a mile off and I don't think we will get permission to drive on the land when it's this wet Back on to the rats around the yards I think The field that borders my garden, a nice new duck pond The water's about three or four feet deep in the middle of this pic (in between the blue drum and the oak tree) and still rising What's it like elsewhere? No disasters yet I hope
  8. Is there a list anywhere of the 'spec' of the different grades, eg. only a grade 5 has the gold trigger etc
  9. I have a miroku 3800sw 28" O/U 12 gauge ejector. I was thinking of selling it as I never use it anymore. A mate of mine was interested and looked at it and said "that's not a grade 5, it may be a grade 3" My reply "fecked if I know", I bought it secondhand, as a grade 5, off somebody I used to work with (who I still know and isn't the sort who would rip anyone off). So how do you tell what grade it is? Can you tell off the serial no. ,or is there a list of features for the different grades somewhere eg. different engraving, gold trigger, different wood etc? I can put some picture
  10. bf goodrich allterrains mate!50/50 and there a very good hard wearing tyre pricey but worth it bf goodrich all terrain. mint off road great on it.expensive but will do 50.000mls which ya lucky t get 15 out of any of the others and they are 3/4 of the price of bfg still As above BF Goodrich all terrain, they last ages and aren't bad in the muddy stuff. Try Mytyres for a price, but don't forget to add fitting and balancing costs
  11. Spend as much as you can on a good quality scope , worth it in the long run and should be a good investment. If looked after it should last many years
  12. Night Vision if I'm on my own, lamp if there's two of us. I say this because with NV it's not much fun for whoever isn't doing the shooting unless they have a seperate nv monocular to see what's going on. Good fun on the lamp but I find rats will bolt easier unlike NV where they tend to sit there for longer
  13. An annual trip to the nurburgring seems to bring danger , bad heads and a general lightening of the wallet
  14. A larsen trap is probably the easiest way tocatch them, however you'll need a call bird but you may be able to catch your own (see johnb's frequently asked questions in the trapping section) how to make a larsen trap
  15. I've decided to leave it as it is for now and alter my HW80 insted. I'm after .25 for that bit more stopping power for short distance rats, only about 15 yards max. I'll keep the HW zeroed at close range and the rapid can stay as it is around the 30 yard mark. If your after a place to get a .177/.20/.22 barrel for your rapid try the link below, they're about £90 depending on what length you want AWT
  16. huh!! how the hell ,they do that ?? have a look in the 'Jan' shooting times mag, what happens !! I think its 20 bore anyway (might be 16 bore) but people who shoot different calibers, and have both in thier pocket, load the smaller one in and must think it's fell out of the other end of the barrel, so then load a 12 bore cartridge in and then there's a 3 inch chunk of barrel where it shouldn't be. I've seen the results of doing this and the mud/snow in the end of the barrel but it surprised me that the mud or snow didn't blow out before the side of the barrel did. I just always
  17. I may be wrong but I thought convictions expired after 5 years, so if it was 9 years ago you had your rifle stolen and you weren't charged with anything anyway you should be ok by now? And tail lights out on a car shouldn't get you a criminal record so shouldn't be taken into account
  18. It's always surprised me that the barrels bulge or blow a hole in the side of them before the mud or snow comes out I've seen a few at gamefairs that have had 20 bore cartridges put in by mistake followed by a 12 bore cartridge and then fired :vava:
  19. This may be of use to some people, it gives the weights of a lot of pellets and there is an energy calculator on it but you still need a chronagraph to get the fps http://extorian.co.uk/shooting/pellets.html
  20. You need a good solicitor with experience in firearms matters. As above try phoning basc and ask if they will fight it for you if you joined or payed them to do it If you can prove that it was over the limit when you bought it, it may be the gunshop that's in the sh#t.
  21. They look the dogs mate, really like this one
