  1. These days the way it is more likely to get stabbed by the 14 year old then anything else
  2. O that happens on here probably not quite as bad as the Facebook hero's but there's always a good agruement on here
  3. Soon as mate, dosnt have to be like training though rolling an old pair of socks about the front room and calling him back that's the start of your retrieve training, make it as fun as possible 5 mins a day to start so not to bore the pup it will all click into place. Just remember the more you put in the more you get back.
  4. Brilliant pal well done, so you've never met me or my dog but clearly you know 100% that you being a real tough guy have kicked better lurchers then me ???????????????
  5. And we have another legend of man who's had the best trained the best and is all round just the best!! Nobhead
  6. Not much wind bit of rain but a dark night may be a bit of wind out in the open, soon find out anyway I'm off out everyone is asleep so why not
  7. I've skimmed over it mostly just back home now after skimming a few walls for a mate. Thinking of going out for shine though not tierd now
  8. Yeah he's getting alot better now don't get many easy runs round where I am he's got to run smart and turn on a dime to get half a chance of a catch. He brings stuff back half way then comes to me, then I send him back out picks up again, then half way again and so on ? funny sod but I'm convinced one of these days he'll bring it all the way back. He's not much of a cruncher either which is nice as with the bull x I had there was only mush left if I got it back at all!! This one is a pleasure to work with and have around grate in the house and dose plenty to keep me happy
  9. Bloody hell mate having a time of it lately, what you need my good sir is abit of beddy bloody in them kennels be right with that
  10. Wouldn't be that bad if I got chance to sit on sofa, been out few early mornings but not seen a dicky bird, I'm not going mad at the moment anyway it's been 14/15° most nights still but that one he did have I slipped him thinking he had zero chance of getting it but was last field of the night and he was flying ran it up and down the hedge a few times then turned it back out in the open and got it on a straight line was by far his best run to date. We've had loads of rain now last week or so and starting to get cooler at night so hopefully be getting out some more now. Glad to hear she's doing
  11. Look at them weeds blacky ?? ahead of me still though I've only got a grand total of 1 bunny so far ? been moonlight loads then when the weather turns bad dark and cloudy I'm busy. Hoping to get out for a few hours tomorrow night though
  12. None of that nonesence her my old.fruit just a man
  13. Well we have the nicest lurcher thread may aswell make this the campest thread ?
  14. Totally waterproof very stable shoe!! Or maybe they was getting to run away when plod got there but failed at that aswell
  15. Very very true i know a lad has running dogs only dose a bit with them but wouldn't dream of a conversation with a dog man/woman as he thinks were all poachers who don't give to shites but will go and do it himself. Personally I think lurcher work is the best shooting these days with all there Tec is just pointless they have no need to stalk and learn when they can just spend £££ and that dose the work for them
  16. O he remembers it's a fond memory for him now he's good a pretend sleeping ??
  17. Get all sort of No it all fcuk wits had people tell me my lurcher is half saluki ........ Not a drop in him lol. As for badger dogs that's what the media has done to Joe bloggs walking down the street they see a terrier that looks like it may work and that's it there minds are made up!! It is wrong and hard to be the bigger person most the time and just ignore and walk away
  18. Tried to find the Dave Platt thread but seems to have gone? I'm intrested I'm the deerhound grey for my next dog is he the only breeder of the sort? Or is anyone planning breeding a litter of deerhound based lurchers? Not after any bull in the mix. Deer grey x deer and something not to fussy as don't want to get bogged down on one certain x but would like a deerhound based blood in it.
  19. Haha that's true look like a normal size dog with me ?. See I'm not going down the bull x road I do like the Wheaton look and people say good things about them but I think I'll give a deer x grey a go next but see what's about when I'm looking im not set on any type really but would like a deerhound based x
  20. Personally I think all dogs are totally different to each other although mines not f1 but mostly made of beddy grey in happy with him and that's all that matters id like to get a deerhound based dog in the future again they have mixed views but could very well be really well suited to me ? who knows
