    Went back to work this week after six months off, the other care taker said to me he had not seen a deer since I had left lol first day back I saw three on the lawn like you say eyes wide shut, on the cat front been quite a quiet winter regarding sightings

    People are a bit different on the water mate always willing to lend a hand, lots of people with family’s move straight on a big un and you will find people will be there to lend a hand from the off, it’s always windy here as I’m on a bottle neck at the end of the Severn people get in trouble all the time coming and going but there’s usually someone that will jump on board and sort you, the worse thing to be is ignorant and rude, we live like it’s the 1980s still if I go to the shops I ask my neighbors if they need out and vice versa everything just works

    New boats are made from shite Chinese steel/ melted scrap cars , I,ve seen boats made in the 90 without a bit of rust and 5 year olds with loads generally you will have a survey anyway we’re they measure thicknesses every few feet along its full length

    You thinking of plotting up on there when you go afloat mate, I had a mooring at goitre warfe about 15 year back lovely place to reside but hard work boating low bridges and low water levels in summer, it’s 25% cheaper because it’s landlocked which is a bonus but you have to price craneage and transport if you ever want to leave

    We’re all good thanks everyone, water level rose by 2ft in the night, my boat is over 30 tons so it lifted the whole jetty out the water when I cut the ropes and got a bar behind it the whole boat went up about a foot or more dogs shit there selves luckily the jetty sat back down on its stands with quite a Big Bang but we are all good now

    Woke up early this morning after some torrential rain last all the doors had closed in the boat, strange stuck my head outside to see my rudder had got stuck under the jetty and lifted the hole jetty out the water, so I,m out there in pouring rain with my knife out cutting the ropes then had to get o long pole and leaver the whole boat forward until she popped up like a cork

    I,ve had some covid / flu type thing over Christmas completely fecked me up spent 6 days in bed chest felt like I had broken ribs, went to the pub yesterday first meal since Christmas Eve and first night last night I wasn’t up coughing my lungs up all night it’s been shite
