  1. It’s a good food source for the beasties im looking for, it’s also pretty unsuitable for anything more than a shotgun due to the flat ground and it’s proximity to the motorways and major railway lines, I think that’s probably why they are so prolific around here, I had an accidental course along the hard shoulder of the m5 last winter luckily it turned back in rather than going across the carriageways, ?
  2. It’s alive with them and muntis can’t go for a walk without seeing a few that’s the main path through the farmyard walked by all the horse riders from dawn to dusk ?
  3. Even these two clowns have let it go now sandy, it’s time you did the same
  4. Life goes on mate, painted a bedroom for someone this morning, two coats of emulsion and one gloss away by 1 and off out with the dags don’t really no what all the fuss is about, been walking this land for 40 years happy as Larry , the only difference today is nothing has a price tag on it so what’s the point ?? All my money came from fur feathers and meat, today nobody wants any of them so why take more than you need ??
  5. There are a few people that do it in that area, I,m assuming you are talking about the guy with the frame on his leg, if so yes he is still active though I think family issues have slowed him down somewhat this year which is a shame as he has had a few half tidy pics in his time ?
  6. I can go to this area and find footprints and fresh kills, but as I,ve said before I have a full time life as well so until someone can come along and offer to pay me I will only be scratching the surface on my own if I could spend a month with the technology then yes I could get some proper footage, a lot of footprints I find are in gateways and and entrances to footpaths so I would say yes they are using roads, though more country lanes, the motorways are littered with crossing points either underpasses or bridges so not a lot of need to cross them, the latest podcast guest almost ran one ov
  7. My iPad keeps signing me out sorry so I photoshopped my answer, and the ridge of land in the pic will get a visit around the end of November start of December has done for the last 3 years
  8. Got to be honest with myself and new dogs will be something I will have to give some serious thought about, but if I do get another dog would get a hound type and attempt to train it in scat detection as running dogs is not really an option I,m often looking along motorway embankments railwaylines and around quarry’s, but something you could work on a long line would be sound ?
  9. https://bigcatconversations.com/ep31-bodmin-exmoor-beasts-the-inside-stories/ Have a listen on here mate ?
  10. Get a few mistakes from them mate ??
  11. Bit random but thanks for letting us in ??
  12. Funny thing I can remember saying to people when the badger protection laws came in , give it 30 years and we will be over run with them, they will become a problem, recon I can say I told you so now,?? used to love a good dig with good dogs and good lads, often have the farmer out with the backo moving earth, and it wasn’t about cruelty and baiting, the best digging dog I ever owned very rarely got bit or even engaged, she would just bay all day until you broke through and finished things off died at 9 with barely a mark on her, think if there was a bounty on them tomorrow I’d be more incline

You can see the difference in the sex,s, I would say number 3 was a young female, but the males just run up there?

    Big Cats.

I think pound for pound the jaguar has the biggest bite of the cats, not 100% sure but think that’s the case, bit of over dramatics for the telly but that one bite kill is the bollacks for me ?
  17. No no no, there are only 5or6 spices you need as a base for all curry,s garam masala, coriander, cumin, chilli, turmeric and cardamom, just get these then add more as you get more adventurous and confident, pastes for pussy,s ???? I do use a few pastes as well ?
  18. I think the big ingredient people are missing is the time you spend with your dogs, in the 80s my dogs lived in my van and went everywhere with me, if I was working on site the dogs were with me and if I wasn’t on site I was out hunting, it was a very lucrative life and worth the effort, I would check the perimeter fence on most sites I worked on and be snaring Fox’s from day one, but the dogs were doing a 40hr week and even a fool would learn with that much work, today people have a walk before and after work and a bit of a shine or mooch on the weekends and as a consequence, they will never
  19. Mix your curry powder with a veg oil and marinade your meat in it over night before you start cooking, poverty is the mother of invention which is why the best tasting foods come from the poorer country,s, it’s not about ingredients more making do with what you got, also curry’s always taste better done in a clay pot in the oven for a day or two rather than simmered to death in a pan for a few hours on a job as most tend to do ??
  20. Got nothing against what anyone wants to do but I think sometimes there comes a point you get a bit killed out, and now I just understand and appreciate how everything works a bit better, we have already f****d the balance right up so we will always have to step in and address the balance ourselves as is happening with the badgers here ??
  21. A friend of mine was canoeing on a river in Canada a few years back following the melting ice, he had the big cans of bear spray with him, they landed on an island in the river and my mate started walking toward the tree line while his mate stayed with the boat, as my mate got close to the trees he spotted a bear cub so got the can out and started backing away, next thing mum standing on two feet comes rolling out the trees towards him, he said he looked at the can looked at the bear threw the can and legged it down the beach screaming at his mate to get the canoe going, ?
  22. Still not got over the brexit results I see, ???
